               A  BEAT  .  it’s  a  beat  that  passes  too  quickly  ,  slips  from  between  her  fingers  and  to  the  ground  :  glass  shattering  and  clause  broken  ,  this  is  IT  folks  .  the  final  fuck  up  .  breath  hitches  at  the  sight  of  DEATH  BOY  ,  doom  boy  ,  couldn’t  you  have  been  anyone  but  HIM ,  boy  ?  ,  and  she  flinches  back  .  he  still  breathes  fire  like  he’s  ready  to  burn  everything  for  you  ,  you  know  .  you  were  all  but  match  to  set  gasoline  boy  aflame  . 

             ❛   el  .  ❜  foreign  on  her  TONGUE  .  radio  silence  and  avoidance  in  the  hallways  and  everywhere  .  regression  is  a  BITCH  ,  falling  back  into  old  habits  ,  she  has  aiko  by  the  throat  .  ❛   i  didn’t  ...  you  ...   ❜  struggle  NOW  to  form  words  you’d  never  thought  you’d  speak  to  him  ---  it  was  supposed  to  be  a  CLEAN  break  .   ❛   it’s  been  a  while  .  ❜  IF  THREE  MONTHS  of  nothing  could  be  considered  a  while  ,  anyways  .

              IT’S  SEVERE  disappointment  crossing  her  features  (  learned  from  ren  well  )  watching  her  FRIEND  ACQUAINTANCE  mumble  and  bumble  idiotically  ,  her  own  pen  tapping  graph  paper  lightly  ,  debating  on  whether  or  not  to  ignore  it  (  er  ,  HIM  )  or  to  say  something  .  eyebrows  knit  together  .  she  could  definitely  go  for  something  for  shock  factor  ----  then  at  least  she’d  get  SOME  sort  of  quiet  .

            SNAPS  to  get  his  attention  ,  ❛   daniel  .  ❜   she  shakes  her  head  ,  looking  him  dead  in  the  eye  ,  mouthing  the  words  :  shut  the  fuck  up  .

                OH  HOW  GOOD  he  is  to  you  ,  fell  in  love  with  the  flame  that’s  been  snuffed  out  into  ASH  ,  pliable  boy  made  shatter-able  under  cultivating  touch  and  care  .  he’s  more  like  glass  than  wood  ,  to  shatter  and  glint  in  the  moonlight  after  he’s  done  being  ANGRY  ,  done  sparking  up  fire  ,  done  spitting  out  gasoline  just  to  keep  himself  going  .  

                (   I  WOULD  BURN  THIS  CITY  FOR  YOU  .  )  and  you  ,  sinner  you  are  ,  to  worship  the  flame  he  sparks  up  ,  bask  in  the  heat  ,  long  for  MORE   even  if  it  means  getting  burned  .  (  I  DIDN’T  ASK  YOU  TO  .  )  but  he’d  find  any  excuse  to  see  the  fire  of  life  again  in  your  eyes  ,  even  if  it  means  burning  himself  alive  .

                REALLY  ,  she  should  let  the  comment  go  ,  roll  her  eyes  at  his  own  irrelevancy  and  continue  on  with  her  novel  ,  but  there’s  an  INKLING  of  imp  in  her  chest  ,  pushing  her  to  put  the  book  down  for  a  few  seconds  .  a  few  moments  .  ICE  QUEEN  has  all  but  defrosted  in  the  heat  of  the  past  and  left  nothing  but  aiko  in  it’s  absence  ,  all  alone  .  ❛   a  -  tten  -  tion  ?  ❜  she  sounds  out  quietly  ,  setting  book  down  next  to  her  ,  barely  audible  .
