My girlfriend came out as a woman a little while ago now, while she's been dealing with depression, and parents who have their own issues. It's sometimes hard, but she's really kicked butt while I've known her (because she's awesome), and I think you will as well. Good luck :)

I'm genuinely happy for people who feel validated by the 'pure soft and cute wlw aesthetic' but I admit it personally does nothing for me either...

same. i’m not gonna poop on anyone’s parade, especially when it involves kids struggling to come to terms with themselves in a world that keeps telling them that who they are is wrong or dirty. positivity is great. and that sot of thing works for a lot of people, and i’m happy they have it

but idk, personally. when i was a young kinderqueer there was a truly shit moment when i knew i was some flavor of homo, so the straights didn’t want me, but also i wasn’t into showtunes or dance clubs or buying antiques or whatever the Rustic Wholesome Lesbian stereotype was at the time, so the gays didn’t want me either. it wasn’t until i found queercore, Team Dresch and Tribe 8 and Limp Wrist and etc, that i finally stopped feeling alone.

I don’t think I can quite describe how important tumblr has been for me in figuring this stuff out about myself…
