While I’m still not sure where Amity fits, I think Willow and Gus are both going to get involved in the finale to the point of forcing themselves involved because they’ll feel guilty. Luz was going to skip the field trip (aka not be in danger of being captured by Lilith) until they pushed the relics on her which, from what we learned from Lilith so grain of salt, turned out to not even be real.
I also think while some viewers are right to focus on Amity’s conflicted loyalites, Gus and Willow are also very loyal to the coven system. Heck, we got our initial infodump on Belos and the Titan from Willow before the show had Kiki take over for us. Like, even after all their hanging out with Eda, Willow still speaks of the Emperor and coven system with obvious reverence. so to have that all yanked out from under them, to hear Lilith call the relics worthless and callously capture and use Luz to hurt Eda, it’s bound to shake them too.
