But when it had actually happened--- when Root was suddenly gone... he drowned in sorrow and guilt regardless of knowing the inevitable.
Finch was dealing with his grief in private, subtle but infinitely reckless ways. Such as his decision to meet Serafina. He could have taken the alternative of simply booking a nearby hotel, and the Machine had warned him against risking any more danger by coming here, but given how quickly things could turn sour, he couldn’t take any chances. As far as he knew, this might’ve been the last time they would meet. Especially, with the private mission he was about to undergo, even for the price of his own life.
“I’m afraid I won’t be here for long,” Finch began, glancing back as Sera followed him through the hallway to the dining room. “I’ve come to you to tell you that your fight here is done, I can take care of the rest and dismantle Samaritan once and for all. You are not overreacting. She’s being rude and insulting and she has no right. She is using a slur and it doesn’t matter what she thinks, if she is making a ‘joke’ or if she talks to her friend like that. It’s gross.
