This week had been going kinda badly for me, but today I got lunch/coffee with a friend which helped. She got to distract me talking about her new job, and I got to let out all of my stress (which while journaling helps, it's so much better talking to someone as sweet and genuine as she is). And then about the last hour almost of work, my coworkers and I just sort of bsed about life, and it was just so good.
As much as I love my job, it can be extremely emotionally draining with some of the reports I take/work I do in general. Days like this are needed and deserved honestly. I definitely worry about everyone else more than myself, and I need to start to even it out because it's taken a toll on me, and I need to be reminded that there is good in the world as cheesy as that sounds.
PSA its extremely disrespectful to say "what are you, twelve?" TO MY FUCKING FACE, ASS HOLE. Yes, I am the IT person around here. No I didn't go to college for it. No I didn't learn how to do this by playing video games. I am young. I am a girl. But I'm also really smart, really good at what I do, and certainly a hell of a lot more professional than you. Now leave me alone so I can do my job.

you know what's weird? when you're talking about work with your friends and they go "oh yeah coworker x goes to college here oh and once coworker y did this in history class yesterday!!! we have a company party later and everyone's gonna drink and turn up" and then i'm standing there like "ah yes my coworker is about 90 yrs old and has a pet fish named gill in her cubicle."

My check engine light came on this morning so I'm going to the auto shop by myself to have the engine codes read, and i'm scared because i'm a dumb girl.
