Silas University Suspicions
Even if it wasnât quite like Jasper anticipated, they had to admit, life at Silas-U was never boring.
Still, it was better than the alternative: being a Guardian. At least they got to stay in one place, instead of being whisked around everywhere on cases that they didnât even get to decide if they wanted to take. The full-expenses-paid tuition on the Agencyâs behalf did help sway their decision, too.Â
They sat in their dorm room, trying to study for multiple classes at once. They took up as much space as they needed, seeing as their roommate was rarely there--preferring to spend time at everyone elseâs place, doing things that were very distinctly not schoolwork.
Sat at their desk with a forensics textbook on one side of them, and a philosophy textbook on the other, they idly pivoted in their wheeled swivel chair as they glanced from page to page. âThe Who-Dun-It and the Why-Dun-It,â as they liked say.
However, before long their attention began to stray, thinking about all the strange happenings that kept happening at the school. Curious, they took out their laptop and pulled up the universityâs library records, browsing through the different files intently. Immersed in their âacademicâ research, they found that these happenings were commonplace at this location, which only fueled their interest.
However, before they could go any further, the door to their room was flung open, jolting Jasper out of their hyperfocused state. They practically jumped out of their skin, and, out of instinct, slammed their laptop shut, before spinning around in their chair to face whoever it was that couldnât knock.
