Smaller secondary hands took the glass as his proboscis unfurled into the drink. Cold, yes, freezing... but sweet, fruity, and... something else. He didn't have a thought for this. He was about to "ask" the woman when the cold hit much harder somewhere inside his head, and he quickly pulled the drink away from his face.

Look, he may not know a lot, but he knows the stuff Uncle Wade is spewing is BS. Maybe moms have a really good secret mom-sense after all, because mom never liked Uncle Wade. Considering the day, it's making Grant see why. It's really freaking cold. This cabin sucks. This is not near home which was probably the point. When they talk about "stranger danger" no one mentioned that your Uncle might be the one to kidnap you and your brother. Much less that you might be whisked off somewhere snowy in the woods.

Wade is delusional. Just hanging out here until mom came to "join them"? Grant's got a feeling that this might be one of those 'be careful what you wish for moments'. Wade would be LUCKY if his father got to him before his mother did.

His ribs hurt like hell. Everytime he took in a breath there's an urge to wince. Wade had not taken Grant's arguing about Slade well. Everytime Joey moved it felt like knives in his lung. The four year old was currently wrapped under his right arm and clinging, partially for warmth, partially because, well obviously this was kind of scary. Grant may have been mean to Joey sometimes but that didn't mean he was cool with anyone else being mean to him. He wouldn't stop crying which was a stark contrast to how Wade was egging Grant on to. A satisfaction he wouldn't give the older man even despite getting the guts kicked out of him.

They're coming, they're coming. If anyone could find them it was their parents. And so the mantra just kept repeating in his head. It's an agonizing waiting game, and he doesn't know what to say to Joey other than it's gonna be okay. Eventually the door busts down with an ear clattering BANG!

"Mom!" Grant didn't even wait for the confirmation that his dad and Billy got Wade, he was already running for her arms, pulling Joey with him.

"Are you okay? Did he hurt you?" It's so nice to feel her warmth. Later, he'll register that was the first time in his life he'd ever heard his mother sound scared. For now he answered the best he could.

I think the RP community just needs to get better at communicating with one another. Miscommunication and assumptions are the destroyer of good things in life and I've had my fair share of issues regarding the lack of the former.

People cannot read your mind, you cannot assume shit. You have to ask questions and be so for real with folks sometimes.

If you write and rp with complete strangers then you can hop in their IMs and DMs and have a talk with them about whatever it is you need too.

Folks need to communicate better out here. Learning how to apologize properly with folks wouldn't hurt either.

You know I always love seeing any of your muses and Khare is one I wanna see more often... She's just so interesting and I think she and Marg would actually have a lot in common regarding their conditions-

For one, Marg couldn't ever be mean to Khare... you don't fight the people who bring you food. First major rule of thumb.
