So, here’s a little thing with an OC I just created today. Yeah, lol, so they’re new. Very little figured out about them. They’re a vigilante type character. So far the only name I have for them is ‘The Rat’.
Small warning: Some violence, so if you are sensitive to such topics, please avoid or read at your own discretion.
She glanced down at her watch. Midnight. Why was this guy still working? Sighing, she readjusted her position where she was waiting on the fire escape. Mr. Carter Dixon was still in his office. He’d been here for hours, pouring through work.
Probably tying up loose ends.
A few minutes later she saw him close up his computer and get up. As she watched him close up his office, she got up, wondering yet again if this was crazy.
Too late to turn back now.
Quietly, she made her way down the fire escape. Well, as quietly as she could head down the old, weathered metal structure. She also had to make sure not to lose the man she’d been tailing.
She reached the wet, garbage covered alley. Dirty water splashed her boots as she headed to the end of the alley way. She’d already taken care of the lights, so the alley was safely plunged in darkness.
She only had to lay in wait for a moment when her target passed by. He was looking down at his phone, typing something in. Worried he was going to call someone, costing her her opportunity. No longer worried about this being a mistake, instead worried about stalking him for nothing, she reached out and grabbed the man.
Mr. Dixon yelped, letting out a grunt of pain when she shoved him against the brick wall. He’d dropped his phone along the way, causing it to fall with a loud ‘clack’ as it hit the sidewalk.
“What are you-?” The man started to hiss. He stopped, however, when he looked up and saw himself being held against the wall by someone dressed head to toe in black and wearing a rat mask.
It took him a moment to get a hold of himself. Once he did, he was about as friendly as she expected. “Who do you think you are? Do you know who I am?”
“Carter Dixon. Head of the company behind us. You just spent most of the night in your office, probably making sure there’s nothing left to tie you to your friend.” She told him. Her voice sounded more calm than she felt.
He glared, “Did his family hire you? I already told them, and the police, I have nothing to say on the matter!”
“Nothing about your best friend? I find that hard to believe.” She told him. He was about to say something else when she pulled him away from the wall and slammed him into the wall, “You will speak with the police. And you will tell them what you know. Oh, and you’ll let your employees-”
“Like fuck I will! So they can come after me next?” He practically spat.
She hauled him off the wall and kneed him in the gut. He started to curl over in pain, but she shoved him against the wall again, “You will. Or I’ll pay you another visit. Or maybe I’ll just kill you now.” With that she hauled him off the wall, pinning him to the ground and picked up a loose brick she spied next to them. She held him down, kneeling on him to keep him down, and raised the hand with the brick in the air behind her.
He held his hands up in defence, “Wait, wait… you can’t be serious?! They’ll be able to track you to whoever hired you!”
“Nobody hired me.” She told him.
“P-please! I have a wife! A son!”
“Your friend had loved ones too. Yours will at least have the answers his do not. They will know you died a coward.” She almost whispered to him. Tormenting him. Promising him.
He was in tears now, holding his hands over his face, “Pl-please! I… I don’t! I don’t want to die!”
“You will help them then. You will tell them who they need to look at.” It wasn’t a question.
“Yes! Yes! Just… Just let me go!”
She lifted the brick higher. He yelped and squeezed his eyes close, curling up and much as he could. After a moment she got up off of him, tossing the brick to the side. Before he even opened his eyes, she was gone.
