She nodded and smiled more. “I’d love that Jeff, when are you coming home?” Steph asked. “In about a week and I’ll be back here on Friday I’ll take you to dinner and we can catch a movie just us.” Jeff said. Steph hugged him and smiled as he wrapped his strong arms around her. He rubbed her back and played with her hair some. She pulled back and looked up at him. “What’s wrong?” Jeff asked. “I’ve just never been so happy Jeff you’re such an amazing man and I’m just me.” Steph said. He framed her face and shook his head. “If you’re just you then I don’t want anyone else.” Jeff said. Jeff took her back to her place and then went to his.
Jeff was sitting on his bed looking at Daniel talk to his wife when Jeff’s computer made a noise. He got up and got it sitting on the bed answering the call before she could hang up. “Hey flash what’s up?” Jeff asked. She giggled and blushed she loved the nickname even if it was self-imposed. “I’m alright I just wanted to hear your voice and see you.” Steph said. “Are you getting excited?” Jeff asked. “Very I have my outfit all planned and my make-up too.” Steph said. “I can’t wait to see you again and to hold you I miss you Steph you’ve made my life worth living again.” Jeff said. She hadn’t been there for his spiral downwards and his uphill battle back to the WWE but soon after he and Matt were split up he found her.
She was the light of his life and he had to tell her that before he went insane. “Jeff.” Steph called. He looked at the screen and blinked. “I’m here just thinking about something that needs to be said in person.” Jeff said. She got nervous then and looked down at her hands. “It’s nothing bad flash, it’s something great, oh how did your photo-shoot go?” Jeff asked. Daniel came over and looked at the screen. “So this is the famous Steph, you’re boyfriend never shuts up about you and now see why.” Daniel said. Steph blushed and looked at Jeff. “You talk about me?” Steph asked. Jeff laughed and pushed Daniel away. “I do, but tell me how your shoot went.” Jeff said.
She laughed and smiled. “It was great I loved it.” Steph said. She went into detail about how one model had wanted her to go out with them but she had said no because she was tired and wanted to work on other things that were her other hobbies. She smiled when he nodded and woke up. “Am I boring you?” Steph asked. “No, I just love your voice Steph I could listen to you talk forever I’m just tired and you’re calm voice makes me sleepy.” Jeff said. She blushed and smiled more. “Then get some sleep Jeff, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” Steph said. He smiled and nodded. “Good Night Steph have sweet dreams.” Jeff said. “Good Night Jeff have sweet dreams too.” Steph said. They both hung up and he closed the computer smiling.
The days past quickly but every night they would talk to each other. She was in her black baby doll dress with her boots. She had black lipstick on and dark eye shadow on. She looked at herself and smiled. Jeff had texted her that he was going to meet her at the restaurant and they would leave from there. She got a cab and was in the back when she got a strange feeling but she thought better of it and called it nerves and just that. She got to the restaurant first and paid the cab driver as she got out. She went in and was lead to the table that he had reserved for them. She waited and waited until she got a call. “Steph, I am so sorry I can’t make it out of this town tonight the flights are all cancelled due to the weather.” Jeff said.
She sighed and closed her eyes. “It’s ok Jeff I knew this could happen at any point in time.” Steph said. “Send me a picture and eat everything was already set up.” Jeff said. She laughed softly and he did too. “I’ll wait and show you when I get home ok.” Steph said. “I can’t wait, hey uhmm Steph.” Jeff said. “Yes Jeff.” Steph said. “I wanted you to know that I love you, I wanted to tell you that tonight.” Jeff said. She was stunned and tears ran down her cheeks. Finally he had said it and she was sure he meant it. The one thing Jeff was, was not a liar when he said something he meant it. “I love you too Jeff I always have.” Steph said.
He shook his head as he waited for her text message. It was getting later and later and every the clock showed another hour had passed he got more nervous. At first he thought she was just going to be mad because he couldn’t get there for their first date even though he had called. Then as the hours pasted he knew that wasn’t it at all that something had gone wrong. He had no idea what had happened but he was starting to think the worst. She had walked out of the restaurant and decided to walk home and save the money for a cab it was a nice night and she wished Jeff had been there with her holding her hand. At least now she knew he loved her and she loved him just as much.
She was walking passed an ally and two guys grabbed her. She fought back and got away until a third guy showed up and put a knife to her throat. “You scream or make a sound and I’ll kill you.” Guy said. She nodded and they beat her up and stole her purse. The guy that had the knife put it to her throat again. “I’ll leave you here to die.” Guy said. He stabbed her and she whimpered in pain. They had kicked her and she knew she had a few broken ribs. It was so hard to breathe that she passed out. She woke up in the hospital and the nurse took her hand. “Relax sweetie you’ll be just fine.” Nurse said. Steph licked her lips and the nurse smiled down at her. “They didn’t rape you they just robbed you and beat you up.” Nurse said. Steph nodded and passed out again. The nurse looked at her chart and called Jeff.
“Hello who is this?” Jeff asked. “This is a nurse at Saint John’s hospital I am calling you because your girlfriend has been in an accident.” Nurse said. Jeff barely made it to the chair to sit down. “Steph, is she ok will she be ok?” Jeff asked. “She will be just fine sir I was just calling to tell you what had happened.” Nurse said. “What did happen what kind of accident?” Jeff asked. “She was robbed and beaten they also stabbed her but don’t worry she’s strong and will be fine I promise.” Nurse said. “Did they rape her?” Jeff asked. “No sir, she’s in room 209 when you get into town.” Nurse said. He wrote it down and shook his head. “Can I talk to her?” Jeff asked. “She’s not awake right now but she should be soon.” Nurse said. They hung up.
Jeff leaned forward putting his elbows on his knees and putting his head in his hands. “What’s wrong?” Becky asked. “Steph was beaten and robbed she’s in the hospital they stabbed her.” Jeff said. Becky rubbed his back and he got up. “If I had never asked her to go out she wouldn’t have been there she would’ve been safe and now she’s alone in a hospital room.” Jeff said as he walked around the sitting area outside the gate they were at waiting to board the plane. “It’s not your fault Jeff and she knows that she loves you, you said she told you last night.” Becky said. “I told her too.” Jeff said.
Thank god the plane ride was short. He stopped at a flower shop and got her flowers, her favorite, poppy’s. He got to the hospital and got the other surprise for her out. He got her penguin out of his bag and went in. “Room 209 Steph.” Jeff said. The nurse gave him a pass and he went up. Jeff ran into the room and saw her laying there. His heart skipped a beat as he sat down and took her hand. “Steph, I'm here, I'm here baby.” Jeff said. She looked at him and pulled away. He moved closer and stroked her hair. “I'm not gonna hurt you baby I'm here and when you can leave you're coming home with me.” Jeff said.
Steph looked at him as tears ran down her cheeks. “Shh won't let them get you I'm so sorry.” Jeff said. She took his hand looking at his tattoo. He kissed her forehead stroking her jet black hair with purple streaks. Her sea green eyes gazed into his hazel ones. “Say something Steph please I love your voice.” Jeff pleaded. She shook her head and he nodded. “I'll be here when you grace me with your beautiful voice baby.” Jeff said. The nurse came in and looked at Jeff smiling. “Can I have a word with you sir?” Nurse said. Steph let go of his hand and he got up. He shut the door. “She hasn’t spoken since it happened.” Nurse said. He looked at Steph through the window in the door. “I know she won’t say anything here but maybe I can get her to if I get her home.” Jeff said.
The Nurse walked away and he went into the room shutting the door. “I have something for you.” Jeff said. He helped her sit up and he gave her the penguin and she hugged it close as tears ran down her cheeks. She had bruises on her beautiful face and she was so withdrawn it wasn’t like her at all he was worried about her more now. She looked at him and smiled a little. “I love you Steph and no matter what am going to make you feel safe again.” Jeff vowed. He gave her the flowers and she started sobbing. He got on the bed and she moved away. “Please let me hold you flash it’s me.” Jeff pleaded. She nodded and he held her tightly.
She was released the next day and he took her to his house and she looked around at everything as he showed her around. “This is your room or you can stay in mine with me.” Jeff said. She pointed to his chest and he took her hand kissing her fingers. “Alright with me it is.” Jeff said. She put her stuff in his room and he stroked her hair softly. “You’re safe here Steph and I will keep you safe I swear tell me you believe me.” Jeff pleaded. She nodded slowly and he cupped her cheek making her look at him. “I need you to say it.” Jeff said. She walked away and sat out back and looked at the woods around his house. He found her and sat with her singing softly to her.
He was in the shower later when she walked in and froze. That was the first time that she had seen him naked and she stared at his tattoo tracing it with her eyes. He turned off the water and grabbed a towel wrapping it around himself as he got out. “Come here baby, are you alright?” Jeff asked. She walked out and he rubbed his face with his hands wanting to pull his hair out. She had been silent for a week now and he was starting to think that he would never hear her voice again. He walked into the bedroom and she was curled up reading on his bed and he sighed. Her bright green eyes met his hazel ones and she licked her lips. He went to the bed and sat down still in the towel.
She moved closer and he leaned down taking the book. “This looks interesting baby, but wouldn’t you rather do it rather than read it?” Jeff asked. She blushed and he kissed her softly. It was like starting fire in her and him as well. He put the book down and laid on the bed and she crawled up and kissed him again. He kissed her passionately running his hands into her hair as he pulled her over him. She put her hand on his chest and sighed into the kiss. He pulled back and studied her eyes as she studied his. She kissed his neck and chest softly then got her book going to her side of the bed. He touched her back and she flinched.
He had been home for a few weeks with her and it was getting to the point where all he did was talk to her and watch her sleep. She had horrible nightmares and would wake up sweating and panting like she had run a marathon. He would hold her close and she would cry herself back to sleep never saying a word or screaming. He sat back on the couch and she kissed him long and slow moving closer. He stroked her hair and smiled as she laid her head on his shoulder. “You’re killing me you know that Steph I just want to hear your voice again and the way we kiss is getting better your lips taste so good.” Jeff said. She blushed and let out a little giggle as she looked at him. He kissed her forehead and sighed as his phone rang. “Hello?” Jeff asked. “Hey brother are you home?” Matt asked. “Yes come over me and Steph are here on the couch.” Jeff said and hung up. “Matts coming.” Jeff said.
Steph got up and shook her head and walked away. Jeff went after her and she looked up at him. His hazel eyes showed concern and love. She loved looking into his eyes. They were still looking into each other’s eyes when Matt came in. “Hey, how are you Steph?” Matt asked. She looked at him and bit her bottom lip shaking her head. “She’s healing up nicely.” Jeff said and kissed her forehead. Her bruises were gone and her cracked ribs were still healing but they were better than they were. She had gotten the stiches removed a few days earlier and she was glad there wouldn’t be a scar.
Matt smiled at her and she walked off going to the kitchen. He went over to the couch and Jeff sat with him. “What’s on your mind?” Jeff asked. “She should be in a hospital so she can heal better and that way you can be free to go back to work.” Matt said. Jeff sat there staring at his brother not believing what he was saying. Matt knew how much Steph meant to him. He knew that having her here was the best thing for her but Matt was being selfish. “If she's going through her worse right now, I want to go through it with her. She makes me happier than anything I've ever known, and if I can have a part of making her happy again that's all I want to do. That's all I want to do for the rest of my life.” Jeff said.
Steph stood there in the kitchen tears running down her cheeks. He had been there for her from the start. Jeff had paid her rent so she could keep her place but she was with him all day and all night he rarely left her side and he was so sweet to her always. She heard what he just said and she knew he meant it. She walked out and sat beside Jeff taking his hand and kissing it softly then traced his tattoo. Matt looked at her and she looked at him. “Why don’t you let him go back to work Steph you don’t need him here and you could stay her no matter what” Matt said.
Jeff stood up and shook his head. “Leave Matt if all you’re gonna do is say stupid shit to someone I love then you don’t need to be in MY HOUSE!!” Jeff said. He was so pissed off that he was vibrating. Matt stood up and they stood toe to toe. “You’re going to kick me out for her, your little broken girlfriend.” Matt said. “I said get out she needs me and I love her so don’t you dare start that shit, how many times have you sided with Reby over me?” Jeff growled. He was ready to hit Matt if he said one more word about his Steph. Jeff stood there and shook his head. Matt looked at Steph and she moved away. “Do you see what you’re doing you little bitch?!” Matt yelled.
Jeff hit him and shoved Matt against the wall. “GET THE FUCK OUT!!!!! Jeff yelled. Matt runs out sparing Jeff a second look. Steph got up and went to Jeff rubbing his back then she wrapped her arms around him and rubbed his chest laying her head on his back. “I love you and no one will ever insult you in front of me not even my family.” Jeff said. She closed her eyes and he put his hands on hers rubbing them. “I don’t care how long you don’t speak for Steph you are my girl and I love you more than anything.” Jeff said. She closed her eyes and tears ran down her cheeks. He moved and lifted her chin brushing away his tears. “I’m so sorry if I scared you is that why you’re crying baby?” Jeff asked.
She looked up and shook her head. He kissed her long and slow thumbing away the last of her tears. They stood there just looking into each other’s eyes again. “I’ll wait forever to hear your voice again Steph my beautiful girl.” Jeff said. She kissed him passionately and he held her close to his chest. “I love you Steph, so much I’ll love you forever my Steph.” Jeff whispered softly. She nodded and they stayed like that longer. Once they sat on the couch she snuggled close and he wrapped his arms around her as they watched a movie. It was so nice that she was allowing him to hold her close like she wasn’t scared any longer.
They went to bed and she was laying there thinking about the day when he came into the bed room in a towel fresh out of the shower. She looked over and he looked at her as she sat up her green eyes never leaving his hazel ones and he knew something was about to happen. He knew that she was about to say something, he felt it in his bones. He changed into boxers and smiled at her. She licked her lips and watched as he laid on the bed. She laid in his arms and kissed his bare chest tracing the tattoo on his side. “You love this don’t you Steph?” Jeff asked. She nodded and looked up at him.
He kissed her long and slow rubbing her back and she pulled back. Her hair fell in her face and he moved it stroking her cheek with his knuckles. She licked her lips and he held her breathe. “I heard what you said today Jeff.” Steph whispered softly. He cupped her cheek and tears swam in his eyes. “I meant every word Steph, my Steph your voice is so beautiful and I’ve missed it so much.” Jeff said. She let out a soft sob and he kissed away her tears. “I love you so much Jeff.” Steph said. “What happened baby why did you stop talking?” Jeff asked. She gazed into his eyes and he kissed her forehead.
“The guy with the knife told me that if I made a sound or screamed he’d kill me.” Steph said. He pulled her closer and kissed her long and slow. “I will never let them hurt you again Steph.” Jeff vowed. She kissed his neck and he buried her head there crying. He held her and stroked her hair. “I love you so much Jeff, I’ve always loved you and I always will.” Steph said looking up at him. She cupped his cheek and kissed him long and slow. He ran her hands into her hair kissing her deeper. His tongue slipped into her mouth and she moaned softly. She pulled back and he ran his fingers through her long jet black hair gazing into her bright green eyes. Her eyes had been so dead and distant but now they were alive and so beautiful. “I will always love you my Steph you are all I’ve ever wanted.” Jeff said. She kissed him again and he held her tightly against his chest protectively like he had done forever. Now she knew he was going to have him forever. “I love you too Jeff I can’t wait to love you forever.” Steph said.
