Celtic wheel- Imbolc
we have moved past Yule on the wheel and landed on the next festival Imbolc. Imbolc is a celebration of fire, the celebration of the halfway mark between the winter solstice and spring. it marks the gentle awakening of earth, it’s a time of renewel hope and new beginnings,
It honors and celebrates the Celtic goddess Brigid, who later was adapted to Christanity as st. Brigid and also became candlemas.
people would light white or red candles, host bonfires, or gather around the hearth. it was also a time of pre spring cleaning where people would refreshen physical spaces and do some mental detox. It was also a time to plant seeds and hope the day was over cast in hopes the rest of winter would be mild.
so Shadowheart is handling the garden. Hua is providing the ambience for the festival. Sidhe is making their altar and lighting the candles. Calluna is working on creating fire flowers and reflecting on events and Lynette is handing the bonfire and potentially fireworks…. Although that’s a pretty big fireball.
