Not me learning how terrifying supersonic screams / banshee screams are, and I thought it was terrifying enough Laya’s screams can make a person pop like a balloon, either a human, or a monster (like Giants) but (since her banshee screams are amplified via her demonic powers) noooo. Supersonic screams can damage people’s / creatures’ organs from the inside. Not some thinking migrains or headaches (or damaging ear-drums) are bad.. I’ll talk more about Laya (two days ago was her birthday!)
A little comparison: (Black Canary, Sindel, and Laya)
Let’s start with Black Canary (300 decibels Dd)
Her screams are powerful enough human’s ear rupture. Organs damage.
Sindel (fromk mk) 260 to 280. (From a reddit post). Her screams can shed people’s skins
Now to Laya 320 to 400 Dd. (In my worldbuilding such sound length exists - since the world is coated with magic.)
This is a quoted sentence: “360 dB: this immense energy creates localized vaporization. The pressure wave would strip the flesh from bones and shatter the skeletal structure into dust in milliseconds.”
So if 360 is horrific, you could imagine what 400 would do! (I mentioned in this post how powerful and frightening her screams are.) post
Resource
But fear not! She doesn’t actually use them on weaker creatures like humans or, just creatures that are fragile as a whole. She’d use them on constructs: like golems for example. Major drawbacks? She need to recharge (like taking big gulps of air) and hydrate herself. I’m not going to create a nearly invincible Oc (that’s too boring for me) I want something realistic.
Against humans? There is her hair powers (hair manipulation) she can use her hair. Yes, it is like alive sentient being - can grow unnaturally and extended in length and density. If a person would chop it? The tresses would simply regrow back.
My forsaken oc: SPWN’s (pronounced Spin or S-P-W-N) abilities!
Click here for here lore! (Ps this is her survivor abilities!) Also please ask to use her in anything!
Passive: Keen Eye!
“Thank the Spawn for that!”
Every 15 seconds the survivors and the killer are highlighted, white for survivors and black for the killer. If the survivor is injured even by one hp it’ll turn them red, the more red they are the more hurt they are (eg missing a little hp = they are highlighted in pink. Lots of hp missing = dark red).
This allows her to find survivors that are in need of shields/a second life quickly!
Active One: Spawn’s Gift.
“Don’t die before you earn yourself another life!”
Grant’s the person it is used on a shield which will grant max resistance and durability. If the killer attacks the user with a shield they get stunned for three seconds. SPWN can use this ability every 35 seconds.
Active Two: Spawn’s Blessing.
“And you all said the Spawn isn’t real!”
If a person is below 50% hp SPWN can grant them a second life—this causes her to lose 30 hp. She can use this three times, when uses the second time she loses 45 hp. If she uses this a third time no matter how high her hp is she dies on the spot, due to the fact her body wouldn’t be able to sustain that much self inflicted pain. SPWN also has more hp 2 every other survivor (127). If the ability is used when she doesn’t have enough HP to sustain it this will kill her.
When the person this ability is used on gets their second life they lose a random ability for that round.
——This ability cannot be used on Two Time if they have their second life in current use/when their bar is full.
In short terms SPWN is a support who gives up her own life for others! Making shields and granting second lives at the cost of her own.
——Medkits would be prioritized on her and Elliot.

(Spectre's abilities have shifted slightly over time, from being unable to move with stuff to being able to travel unless in a state of panic, and even now creating light and fire that one time she went kaiju
One thing that will never change, though, is the limit of her being unable to detach parts of herself and have them stay there without vanishing. She will never be able to do that, even at her most powerful, it will be a limitation she will have to work around.
Why do I say this now at 1:07am? Totally not because that'll be important when it comes to her pregnancy no siree.)
🐉 Are they an Elemental Master? What element do they have? If they’re not an EM, do they have any other non-elemental powers?
Yoruhana can technically be considered an Elemental Master, since they wield blue fire, which can be perceived as an element — though not in the traditional sense. Blue fire comes from their oni heritage and functions differently from ordinary fire.
Yoru also has three companions, although they shouldn’t be considered an ability. They are fully autonomous — more like trained hounds than mindless constructs. However, their presence grants Yoru a minor side ability: the power to vanish into shadows and travel through them briefly.
Shapeshifting: they can shift freely between their human and Oni forms.
I decided to use the opportunity to talk in more detail about their abilities, blue fire specifically.
Yoruhana's blue fire more like Thermodynamic Inversion (the best way my mind can explain it). Instead of releasing heat, blue fire absorbs kinetic and thermal energy. It acts like a localized entropy sink — the brighter the flame, the more heat it steals. The area around it grows colder and etc etc.
Some abilities:
•° Can neutralize normal fire and heat-based attacks.
•° When it touches something living, it leaves frostbite-like burns and drains the victim’s life-force. It doesn’t burn objects, but instead drains the energy holding them together.
•° Cannot be extinguished with water, wind, or earth — it vanishes only when “sated.”
•° Cannot provide warmth; the light it gives off is faint and unreliable.
•° Difficult to control — poor control can unintentionally drain allies or the surrounding environment. (Because of this, Yoruhana usually limits its use to small-scale manifestations, which require more focus to control the intensity but are easier for them to handle)
•° Extremely taxing — Oni stamina and needlessness in the warmth counter this, but overuse can still damage Yoru’s human body, leaving frostbite-like injuries and risking hypothermia.
Permanent impact:
Yoru’s human form has a naturally low body temperature. Their hands and feet are often freezing, even in summer, yet they are less affected by cold in winter compared to a normal human — they grew oblivious to it with how used to it they are. But even while being prone to colds, they often refuse warmer clothes, as they find them restrictive and irritating.
Yoru rarely uses blue fire in their human form, and never for long, because of the risks mentioned above. This is also one of the reasons they avoid using it in combat unless absolutely necessary — doing so requires shifting into their Oni form, and they’d rather not reveal it to strangers without a very good reason.
Compared to controlling blue fire, which requires a lot of skill and effort, the shadow ability came naturally to them and often used instinctively, without a second thought. This makes people around them assuming that their powers are connected to shadows for not knowing better.
That’s all for now. I’ll talk about Yoru’s relationship with their abilities once I finish the artwork for it. I also plan to supplement some of the other answers with drawings. Most of the next ones shouldn’t be that long though and will probably be grouped together. /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\

So I've been wanting to show how Spectre's shadow travel works for a while, and I have something in mind that's perfect, but I cannot for the life of me find it. So I made it myself. Hopefully this will be clear and detailed enough.
Entering the shadow
When Spectre enters a shadow, she goes into a strange state. The state itself does not have a physical representation. It's not another realm or anything like that. So for now, I'll use a graphic.
When Spectre goes into Shadow Travel, her "being" is immediately spread out to every source of darkness nearby, whether it be the shadow of a cup or a pitch black room, it's all treated the same. In this image, those sources are represented by the circles, with the red one being the source she entered from.
Spectre senses every nearby source and her mind immediately clings to it. She can "see" out of it like a window. This happens for every source within a radius. The moment she enters a shadow, Spectre can immediately sense every source of darkness. Her mind and vision is essentially split between them, like if you used 50 monitors and automatically looked at each one at the same time, but you still have your human mind. Make sense so far?
Travelling
Okay, so here's the "travel" part of Shadow Travel. Spectre will basically pick a source or just direction. We'll say that the green dot is where she is moving.
Spectre will move towards that spot. As she does, she will lose sense of any sources that become out of range or too far. These "tendrils" will then move to immediately "grab" any sources that become in range or close enough. So here's a visual example.
At the end of the "movement" we get something like this.
From there, it's repeating the process. Spectre picks a new point to move to, and she loses all senses of sources that go out of range while simultaneously gaining senses of sources that come in range. Here's an example of travelling to a second point, and then a third point.
Exiting a shadow
Exiting is pretty simple. Once she's latched onto a source of darkness and can sense it (It doesn't have to be the one she's closest to, just any source she's "connected" to at that moment) she just leaves. Hard to explain cause it's honestly not too different from just walking out a door for her.
—————————————————
Overall, the entire process is very mentally straining. Your senses are constantly being moved to random sources of darkness within an instant, and you're basically looking at all of them at once. The biggest upside to this method is how fast it is. She can basically enter one shadow and then exit on the other side of the planet within seconds. It's especially good in space between universe, since space is almost always dark, and so there are a bit fewer "sources" for her mind to be split between.
Overall, when push comes to shove, the speed of it is often worth the half a second of huge mental strain.
One of Spectre's most taboo abilities: Drone Puppeteering
Over the many, many years, Spectre has learned, forgotten, and remembered many abilities. Some of these abilities, Spectre views as taboo, pure evil, and would never in her right mind ever perform them. Drone puppeteering is one of these taboo abilities. It is the ability to manipulate a drone's actions by physically interfacing with their body.
The process of using the skill has Spectre pierce a very tiny tendril into a drone, with it most easily being done by entering an existing hole in the drone such as their mouth or joints. Once inserted, the tendril can be moved to parts of the drone with careful precision, and physically trigger many actions by interacting with their interior. The simplest actions involve moving a limb like an arm or a leg, but can get as precise as individual fingers.
The peak of this skill is forcing a drone to activate and use the Absolute Solver if they possess it, though specific abilities generally can't be triggered such as forcing the drone to duplicate an item.
(Warning: The following describes potentially graphic imagery. Continue reading at your own risk.)
When a drone is being puppeteered, they generally feel immense pain from the physical interactions happening inside them. They will also still feel things as normal while being unable to stop or control themselves. An example of this would be when Spectre threatened Jason with "forcing him to tear off his own arm and then use it to claw into his face, just far enough to not trigger a fatal error." While Spectre never acted on this threat, if she had, Jason would have felt everything.
