Alright, so! I don't see how I'd make it a snippet or anything, but here's what happened with Spectre that led to the recent chains.
Cassidy beat it into Spectre's head that Harlow wasn't trying to resist The Solver with every inch of her being like Shuriken. That she was essentially more attuned with it, and it was by choice.
Spectre took it and believed she was a fool. She realized she didn't know Harlow as well as she thought. And with the recent stuff with Empress!Harlow, and all the other shit she's dealing with right now, she broke one of her rules and went back in time.
She then proceeded to watch all of Harlow's childhood, from the moment J started training her, to the moment she was left in the cave to die.
She... didn't take it well. Again, the stuff with Empress!Harlow, the knowledge that Harlow wasn't who she had earnestly believed, the knowledge of Harlow being jealous of Tera and Kiara to the point where Spectre herself didn't think she could physically visit her anymore, the stuff with Rae! And her family.
Then, being the impulsive and now extremely emotional person she is, she practically bolted straight to J, not thinking about her words, not taking time that was very much needed to calm herself. That's when the chain with her and J starts.
Spectre herself only started thinking more rationally mid chain. She was not thinking straight, which led her to try and rationalize her own thoughts, recognize that no, Harlow wouldn't hurt her family, and the Solver was absolutely hearing this through J and especially M when she showed up, and then she appeared in front of M and J.
At that point, she believed she crossed the line for good, ruined all forms of relationships she had. She believed there was nothing to salvage. If M hadn't told her to, Spectre would not have gone to J, because she believed that an apology was not even close to enough, and so trying to apologize would be useless.

Right now I have both Ballad and TKOASD bookmarked on my Ao3 so people can still find them under my work, even though it technically looks like I don't have any works posted.

Ok so here's a fun story. Y'know those desktop companion kind of programs that display a character on your screen like a little 3D shimeji? Well, since I have Ideal's model I decided to try it, and yeah it's funny and all to see him sitting there and looking around while I work.
