also we are very bad at fulfilling our own expectations/motivating ourselves/actually doing the stuff we think we should be doing or want to do
on the other hand we are very much shaped by and susceptible to other peoples’ expectations towards us, which can be useful bc outside motivation usually works really well for us, but it obviously has problems… we try to be careful who we surround ourselves with for this reason, because they will influence us so much. but it’s really hard to do and we don’t know how. plus we think we should compromise. but we want to be the kind of person who doesn’t let others dictate their life! Who makes up their own mind and decides for themselves!
we’re too weak. just very weak, don’t stick up for ourselves or our beliefs (especially hard irl), easily swayed or intimidated, plus depressed af so we can’t do stuff most of the time
and the depression and social anxiety and DID also mean that we’re scared we can’t fulfill others’ expectations and actually fail to do so regularly so we cant prompt others to motivate us more bc we never know if/when we’ll be able to do the stuff. idk if this makes sense, but for example: we theoretically want to write, but we can’t motivate ourselves (or barely ever) and we can’t participate in a writing group or similar bc mental illnesses :/ and that’s just one example
