Is anyone interested in a short text excerpt about people who have dissociative disorders and whom are also on the autism spectrum, written by a Japanese psychiatrist,
that explains (just) a little about why they become one with inorganic things related to the senses, objects, animals, and/or plants?
It isn’t much, since it comes from someone’s review, but as someone who dissociates partially into objects of my childhood, and at times colors, I was relieved to know I’m not alone, and I hope others will find it too.
I can’t currently have access to the book, so I don’t know more about the phenomenon, and its treatment. When I do, though, and if someone wants it, I may make another post about it.

Assimilation is seen from the childhood of dissociative ASD patients, and continues into adulthood. Many of the targets are inorganic matter, plants, etc, and sometimes the unification with colors, shapes, lights, sounds or sensations is mentioned. There are times where the target of assimilation may be animals; it is very unlikely for it to be human. This [phenomenon] is related to [the fact] that for them, the changes of the human mind are too complex and varied for the entire perspective to be grasped and predicted.
