This was really big for me, to be honest. Raven is a character I absolutely adore, but when the idea of cosplaying her had first come to mind all those years ago, I had shot it down over the fear of a cosplay that would show off my boy exactly skinny thighs and hug my not very flat stomach all too closely. A few months ago, I finally realized that there was no way in hell I was getting my Female Thor concept done, but I didn’t want to go to NYCC without a cosplay, I love taking pictures with people and seeing little kids faces light up. So my head went back to Raven, and I finally decided to just go for it. And god damn have I never felt better then when I got to be Raven. I felt peak confidence when I walked down the sidewalk with my cape flowing behind me in the blustery morning weather, when the little girl in the convention center got so excited about seeing her favorite superhero that she shouted and tugged on her moms sleeve while I turned to say hi, when the little boy ran up to me and demanded a high five, or when the guy and his friend came up and eagerly asked for a selfie to show their friends. Raven was a blast, and getting the confidence boost I needed definitely opened up a lot of new cosplay opportunities for me, I hope you love her as much as I do!
