I've been feeling the bonkle vibe a bit again. I've been REALLY wanting to draw some of the Phantoka/Mistika versions of the Toa Nuva (humanized of course ;) ), so I gave in and drew Kopaka here.

A COLLECTION OF MELUS! So Melu's my SelfMOC, one of them anyways. He's a Le-Matoran who becomes a Toa. A while back I decided to do designs of what Melu would look like in different Matoran and Toa Builds, and decided recently to update them.

I'm really happy with how all of these came out looking, especially the Hordika and Mistika builds for the Toa, and the Mahri and Shadow Matoran builds for the Matoran.
Here's the originals if you wanted to see them. I didn't have the AV-Matoran, Shadow Matoran, Phantoka, or Mistika builds with them tho. Some of them really only changed in terms of color. Originally I made them trying to stick to the OG Melu's color scheme and placement, but when I went back and updated them I decided to try and emulate the original color aesthetics of the builds they're based on.
I've been playing a lot of "Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom" and this is my idea of what a "Bionicle Version" would look like. You'd go to the different temples to gather each element, and the Nuva Gauntlet would change color depending on what element you're using.
Thinking on it I actually agree the Toa Nuva/Mata probably can't become Turaga, not because they're the first(?) Toa but because unlike everyone else, their destiny isn't intended to end.
They were made to awaken Mata Nui in the event of damage; that could happen anywhere at any time. You can't really afford to have their destiny be completed after accomplishing it once.

For the final two #MetruMarch posts this year, here's Metru-build reimaginings of the Toa Nuva! Second are the Toa Mistika; Tahu, Gali, & Onua. These models are primarily inspired by the Toa Nuva's 2008 forms, but also draw some inspiration from other forms of the characters in question. From an in-universe perspective, these forms are meant to be what the Toa Nuva's adaptive armor defaults to after moving to Spherus Magna.
