the dream was that we had a “turkey” in a glass cage in our apartment. and it was like, dying slowly. idk if it was sick or if we had stopped taking care of it or what. i think it was a combination of the two. anyway, sometimes it would look super dead, laying in a cirlce, its feet all bloated, feathers missing, skin moist and discolored… and its beak had rotted away, this little tongue just sticking out. it looked so dead and was apparently rotting so that when we took it out of this little rock shelter, it peeled off and had molded to the shape of the container— and some of the feathers stuck to the inside of the rock. but when it wasnt looking dead it would get up and walk around but still looked so indescribably grotesque. and it looked at me like it wanted to kill me. what stuck out the most was how badly i didnt want to touch it but i couldn’t avert my gaze either.

the glass cage/rock shelter: you mentioned two types of cages the turkey was contained in. i'm not sure if this was deliberate, but I'll offer interpretations for them both anyway! glass cages are symbols of restraint and disconnectedness. it may suggest that you are feeling stuck whilst watching others around you go on. the rock shelter, on the other hand, appears only when you remove the turkey from its enclosure. this, i find intriguing. rocks symbolise security and stability - but the turkey's physical removal from the rocks may be a manifestation of a lack of security and stability in your own life.
