“Magick” is a term that was coined by noted occultist and founder of Thelema (a precursor to Wicca) - Alistar Crowley.
Crowley was not only racist, but also fetishized people of color and stole from closed practices. Evidence of this is sometimes debated, but this article spells it out pretty clearly and provides great in text citations.
So please, do not use the term “magick” if you do not wish to align yourself with - or continue the legacy of - Alistar Crowley.
