Top 47K - Braid + The Adventures of Batman & Robin
Join the HG101 gang as they discuss a game that gets it all backwards. Then stick around as guest Rusty Shackles joins for THE ADVENTURES OF BATMAN & ROBIN, a visually impressive platformer that really does look and sound like the celebrated cartoon series.
[*long, ragged sigh*]…you got any recommendations on media to consume and where to find it for me to accrue information and/brainrot about The Love Glove? |:]C For strictly scientific reasons, of course
hahahaha! oh yes my dear friend, i certainly do - looks like someone wants to get up a little close and personal with The Love Glove, eh? 😉 taste!!!!
regretfully, The Love Glove is quite an obscure character and i've only know about him for a brief period of time!! however, his appearances are within Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol comic series:
Doom Patrol Vol 2 #49
Doom Patrol Vol 2 #50
Doom Patrol Vol 2 #51
Doom Patrol Vol 2 #52
"All of that you'll have to figure out on your own, but I tell you one thing. There is no number one. It's just you. It's always been you. You just grew to be who you always wanted to be."
Changing to be who you actually want to be, breaking out of a box that the place you once called home desperately tried to squeeze you in, and the shattering realization that you don't want to go back not only because you became someone unrecognizable to even yourself (in a good way), but also because you secretly fear that they won't accept you for who you are and would try to put you back into the box you were once in. Backlash that someone you looked up to had received because they were created to be an emotionless, unempathic killing machine without their knowledge, control, or consent, despite their attempts to fit in and be a part of something.
Also a lot of trans allegory.
The themes of Number None
[ image: a drawing of the second brotherhood of dada, with love glove, alias the blur, agent '!', and number none. they're all standing together, as if for a group photo, though alias the blur is taking up most of the image, her face reflecting scorn for the camera. love glove smiles and waves his love glove from behind alias the blur, and agent '!' poses with his hand on his hip beside them. there's a glass of spilt orange juice on the ground in front of them, showing number none's influence. ]

ohh my god GUYS i think i’ve figured out something.
so terry is mr. nobody’s daughter right? but it’s never explained how SHE came to be like it was with casey, and as far as we know mr. nobody does NOT have the same power set as danny, making it unlikely that mr. nobody just created terry. so that raises a very important question: who did mr. nobody fuck?
ok so what exactly is terry’s last name? None, decidedly not Nobody, or even Morden. and who’s the one character we know of, who has previously been affiliated with mr. nobody, who has “None” in their name? NUMBER NONE. the abstract concept of bad luck and inconveniences and the one of the only surviving members of the second brotherhood of dada. and think about it. mr. nobody is THE abstract man, he, like number none, is neither here nor there, yet simultaneously everywhere, so could it really have been anybody else?
TL;DR: Mr. Nobody got freaky with a literal concept and that’s how Terry was born.
Brotherhood of Dada from Doom Patrol (1987)
I just had to post this amazing new rap by JT Music - it is essentially a love letter to a bunch of the indie games that have come out recently and to indie games in general! It’s so much fun!! (Also, some of the lyrics are reused from the raps JT Music made exclusively for those particular games, so that’s cool)
