Killian leaned against Kade's door, knocking on it again. "Come on, dude...." he said "You actually need to go to class..."
"Go... away, Killian," Kade's voice said from inside.
"If you miss any more class, they will not let you graduate" Killian said calmly "You've already missed to much"
Movement sounded from inside, before the door opened. Kade stood in the door. His hair fell over his face, longer than usual. He wore sweatpants and a hoodie that was much too big for him. Â
Killian looked him up and down. "At least you're dressed...." he said "Come on... before both of us is late"
Kade looked at Killian with a flat expression. Somewhere in the dorms a door got slammed shut, making him flinch slightly. He breathed out slowly, before stepping out of the room and closing the door behind him. Â
"There..." Killian said, patting Kade on the shoulder "How are you feeling?"
Squinting slightly, Kade looked down at the ground as they walked. He crossed his arms. Â
"Light's too bright" he grumbled. Â
"Sounds too loud?" Killian asked and Kade nodded "Alright.... let's get to class before it's too much"
Kade rolled his eyes, a slight smile pulled on his face. "If anything happens, I will blame it on you" he said "For pulling me out of my nice and dark and muted room"
Killian nodded. "If things get a bit too much... Just tell me" he said "And you'll happy to know that Lycan is giving the class today"
"Lycan..." Kade said, his shoulders relaxing a bit. Â
"See I told you you'll like it" Killian said as they walked to the campus. Â
"HEY GUYS!" voices called from behind them. Â
Riley and Beck walked over at him. Â
"Oh you managed to get the shadow boy out of his room" Riley said with a grin, throwing his arm around Killian's shoulders, while Beck fell into step next to Kade. Â
"Where have you two morons been?" Kade asked, looking at the two with a raised eyebrow. Â
"Here and there" Riley said with a shrug.
Kade looked at him with a flat expression, but did not say anything. Â
"So Lycan is giving the class today" Beck said, looking at Kade "The two of you get along, right?"
"Oh so there's a chance that we're not going to be sent to the infirmary?" Riley asked, making the other two laugh. Â
"Oh don't underestimate Kay..." Beck said "He'll managed to get send there even if he's just walking down the street"
Riley snorted. Â
When they reached the class, Lycan and the others were all waiting for them.
Lycan grinned at the four. "I'm glad to see you've decided to join us" he said.
Kade smirked slightly. "Sup sir" he said.
"You look like crap Delroy" Lycan said, before his eyes went Riley "And you as well Brox... You two are sitting this one out"
Kade and Riley looked at each other, before looking at Lycan. "We'll be fine, Sir" they said at the same time.

Sergey Rachmaninoff is still one of the most well known Russian composers. He was born in 1873 in Oneg, Russia, and died in 1943, Los Angeles. He was also a virtuoso pianist and a conductor, whoâs ouvre includes piano pieces, four piano concertos, four sypmhonies, chamber music, and many other genres. In his compositions he continued the tradition of Tchaikovskyâs style which was influenced by Western music, and by the virtuosity of Franz Liszt. Before becoming a musician, he was expected to complete a military school and continue the family tradition, but he enrolled the Moscow Conservatory in 1885. Later in life, he faced challenges which affected his creative spirit, such as long episodes of depression, and the homesickness after his exile from Russia to Switzerland and later, to the USA after the October Revolution in 1917. Many of his compositions reflect these inner struggles, and the longing for his homeland, illustrated by the use of Orthodox Christian chants, the sound of bells, and rhythms inspired by Russian folk music.
For this post, I decided to write about an underrated gem: Trio ĂlĂ©giaque no. 2 op. 9 in d minor for violin, cello, and piano. The reason why I chose this piece is that, in my opinion, that most composers have one tonality which is particularly close to them. In the case of Rachmaninoff, this tonality is d minor. Many of his important works are written in d minor, such as his Symphony no. 1, his first piano sonata, the Piano concerto no. 3, or the Variations on a theme by Corelli. Additionally, the first movement of this trio is the most mature one, predicting the tone of Rachmaninoffâs later works with its exquisite harmonic language and extremly wide range of emotions.
The trio was dedicated to the memory of Tchaikovsky, who died unexpectedly in 1893. When composing this trio, Rachmaninoff was only 18 years old, still studying at the Moscow Conservatory. This piece was preceded by the Trio ĂlĂ©giaque no. 1 in g minor (1892). He could have taken inspiration from Tchaikovskyâs Trio op. 50 in a minor, written for the memory of Nikolai Rubinstein (In the memory of a great artist). It was premiered in 1894.
The piece consists of three movements:
I. Moderato
II. Quasi Variazione
III. Allegro Risoluto
I think the earliest, most authentic recording of the Trio was made by the Oistrach Trio in 1958, Moscow. The trio performed on concerts from 1940 to 1963, being one of the most excellent chamber music ensambles of their time. The members were the violinist David Feodorovich Oistrach (1908-1974), cellist Sergey Knushewitsky (1908-1963), and pianist Lev Oborin (1907-1974).

Fallen Heroes - The First Night
Tyler sat down on the ground, clutching the envelope to his chest. He blinked at the spot in front of him where the NightAngel just turned to ashes. Unsure of what the hell just happened, he did not know what he was supposed to do now. Â
Slowly he looked down at the envelope in his hands. There were bloodstains on the paper. Â
Swallowing he opened the envelope. There two sheets of paper in the envelope. One of them were kind of a map with a few sentences on the end. His eyes scanned over the sentences. Â
It told him to go to some kind of mansion and to hand the envelope to the butler. Â
Shaking his head, he moved on to the other piece of paper. That one told him everything about the NightAngel, how long he should be expecting to live after gaining the power and some points on what his power would be able to do. Â
The most interesting was that he was not sure what kind of powers Tyler would get, since it seemed that each NightAngel had a different set. Â
He breathed out and slowly got to his feet. For a moment the world turned and his stomach growled. With a growl he folded his arms over his stomach. Â
He was so hungry. The last few days havenât very good to him. He havenât had anything to eat for days. Maybe if he went to that mansion heâd be able to get something to eat? It was worth a try.
He picked up the map and slowly made his way back out. It felt like his stomach were eating itself from the inside. Â
âI really need something to eatâ he muttered as he kept on stumbling forward, glancing over his shoulder, just to make sure that he wasnât being followed by the shadow thing that killed the NightAngel. Â
Shivering he kept on moving.Â
