I wanted to start this project since Summer of last year, when I received my Xinyiwawa bodies and heads. However, life and nature and stupidity happens and gets in the way of life. I removed the insert eyes, because I want my Eren to have his beautiful vivid emerald green eyes, he has in the anime. I know that in the manga he has grey eyes, but I am biased towards green eyes (my own mother and a lot of fictional characters I love, have green eyes!). I got the one Xinyiwawa head with the grey insert eyes, that they only seem to carry on their own taobao shop. However, I don’t know nor feel like I will be sticking to the grey ones, so I chose to use one of the heads with the more common brown eyes.
I’m done with the painting process. Now, I’ll need to work on his hair, I am aiming for the man-bun as well as the loose long layered look. I don’t mind making tiny wigs, but I know the eyes are going to be a huge pain in the gut-hole. It’s already proving to be a royal pain in the behind finding 6mm eyes, let alone glass ones in green with 4mm irises. Most are either acrylic, or two millimeters too big. The clothes at the very least are easy enough, for a no-skills, not-a-seamstress like me to worry too much.
At the least, I can always find readymade pieces for 1:6 figures, since I am planning on putting him on my awesome KamiSoul body. It is a bit broader, and much taller than the Xinyiwawa body, which is ideal to me, because I want to give Eren more accurate proportions to the anime and not such a huge noggin. I know that some people feel the Xinyiwawa head is too small for its own body, but I find it too big. This one in particular, is bigger than GameToys’ Sephiroth’s head. And that figure is on a 12+ inch, kind of muscular body. The Xinyi one is short and quite slim, with very narrow shoulders. Which to me, makes this head (and the others as well) too big, for my own personal taste on male “action figures.” Not looking forward to the ordeal getting the eyes is going to be, I can always try modding the original Xinyiwawa ones, but I don’t feel it’s going to go all that well.
