The shorter story - bluestoplights Season 2 Canon-Divergence / Emma and Hook are not friends. He gets into trouble and she's the sheriff. It's just natural that they're forced to spend time together.

Dirty magic - andromeda3116 "The price for getting what you want, is getting what once you wanted." After three hundred years plotting his revenge, Killian begins to wonder just who it is he's trying to kill. After eight years of telling herself it doesn't hurt anymore, Emma begins to wonder just who it is she's trying to fool.

My smol child Aaron Judge is doing his best - as I have informed my husband every time he’s casually mentioned to me that my smol child Aaron Judge has struck out, approximately, 82 times this postseason.

Hello, hi, I love him. I talk about the Rangers all the time and my Rangers fandom all the time, but I have been a Yankees fan since the dawn of time. More or less. I’m still not convinced I’m not going to marry Derek Jeter and we paid a questionable amount of money to go to his Monument Park induction and I cried a questionable amount. 

That being said, I haven’t been this psyched about a Yankees team since 2009 and I woke up at three in the morning to stand on the sidewalk and go to the championship parade and I cried then too. 

I spend a lot of time crying about sports. 

Anyway, I love this team and I love Aaron Judge and his stupidly adorable face and @laurnorder and I have already started trash talking ahead of the ALCS. 

What the hell is "aquatic notes"?

It’s...kind of a weird one to be honest, because it really depends on the perfumer? Sometimes it will be scent adjacent concepts -- florals that are associated with the seaside and the like, or it can be a lot more literal: the smell of salt water, sand, I’ve even seen seashells referred to as a note? And you can go freshwater with petrichor -- quite literally -- trying to evoke that mineral smell of wet rocks.

And then it depends on if the perfumer is only using botanicals, or if they dip into synthetics as well. There’s a chemical compound called Calone, that smells like clean, beachy, sea air with a melony kind of cucumbery aspect. It’s completely synthetic, but it has a similar chemical structure to scent molecules produced by some seaweeds, and associated with a fresh marine scent.

This is the most thorough, logic-based exploration of options related to Once that I’ve seen in a long time. I am still laughing! (Also does all the damage done by Gideon count as baby whump? I mean, he was a baby and returned to baby, just took a weird whumpy detour.)

Emma/Gideon fight: Sing off was already done last week and the producers said it was redundant to do that again.  

Wow! You all really came through for me on my tagging dilemma regarding Gideon’s latest besting of Killian in 6x14! I got so many good suggestions from you all that I can’t respond to all of them individually, but I love each and every one of you for helping!!!

It seems like the common consensus is to go with “kidnapping” for what Gideon’s doing there, and I think some of you had some really good ideas for WHY it counts as kidnapping - especially @goldgirl1239 who said, “If you close a door and chain it up on someone where they can’t get out its kidnapping plain and simple.” Very well put there, and an excellent point. Thank you!

So “kidnapping” is going to be the final winning tag, but I also loved some of the other suggestions. @chrissascorner suggested “falsely imprisoned” which would definitely be accurate, and @revanmeetra87 reminded me of the word “shanghai” which, in its modern usage, is actually perfect for what Gideon’s done to Killian here. However, shanghaiing is considered a form of kidnapping, so I guess it’s another sign that kidnapping’s the winner.

Of course, I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t give a shout out to my favorite funny responses. @killiarious offered this firm opinion: “THE BOAT KIDNAPPED HIM!” which amused me greatly, especially since this would be the second time it’s done so and I smell a new ship in the air (pun intended?)... culminating in an epic showdown between the Nautilus and Kraken-san with the winner taking Hook for themselves. (Meanwhile, Hook’s off to the side going, “No, no, I didn’t agree to ANY of this!” while Nemo, Liam 2.0, Ariel, Ursula, and the rest of the seagang get some popcorn. Prince Eric would probably come too, if anyone knew where he was ever.) I also loved @annaamell‘s suggestion of “scuttled” - mostly because it made me picture Killian being carried away by this guy:

...which is now my new favorite mental image, especially if he carries Hook to Ariel and tells her he’s a “floofenjagger” and starts making up uses for him, and Ariel plays along while Killian’s sulking and pouting in angsty offense at... absolutely everything about this entire scenario. I also liked @notoriouscs‘s suggestion of “Seaxiled! (Like, instead of sexiled)” which I think she meant instead of exiled, but again, I have the most hilarious mental image now of what, exactly, would be entailed in “sexiling” someone (I’ve since learned this is actually a slang term for banishing one’s roommate from the room so one can entertain their paramour, but my mental images are way funnier than that).
