I need help. Do you know how to control a living weapon without magic? Say, if their world has no magic.

I think you could go with the simple method of threats and a reward/punishment system (ie. do something the handler approves, gets a treat or "privilege", like nice food or being allowed outside; does something against the imposed rules, gets one of those "privileges" revoked or is otherwise hurt), for starters. It wonβt be 100% effective because people generally don't like having someone else's orders be imposed over their own will but if your whumpee has some self preservation it will probably make them comply some, and, if you're lucky, create an habit. Give them more reason to obey than to defy and soon enough it might become second nature βοΈ It is easier to do something like complying if you've been at it for a while then it is at the beggining. They'll get used to playing this game, playing to your expectations. Or so I assume.
Some examples of threats/punishments I can think about are huhh. Shock collars (ie. whenever they say something they're not allowed to, they get shocked), being deprived of good food, of comfortable bedding, of the right to groom themselves and choose their own clothing (even if it may seem small, being stripped of even small amounts of autonomy can be greatly traumatizing), being deprived of hobbies or of things that are not strictly essential to survival, being beaten or yelled at when they don't obey orders. Tho as i mentioned above, coupling those with rewards is probably best; the lw won't obey you just *because*, they need a reason to. Avoiding making things worse for themself is okay, sure, but knowing that if they comply they will get a reward, that their quality of life will be improved (re: "privileges"), that they actually have something to gain out of going along with the orders, it will probably make them much more willing to comply.
I also think it would be even more effective if we are talking about indocrination from early life, like taking a young character and raising them like this. It is very hard to go against something you've been taught about for your entire life and this is also one of the ways that, for example, cults aquire new members: by having them be born into it. Take, say, the church. Not all churches are abusive cults, but have you noticed that children born from christian parents often get pushed to follow those same beliefs and attend the same churches? It is way easier to catch them from early on than to convince someone with a preexisting view of the world, even though the latter is also possible (and painfully common). If it's all you've ever known, even if you don't like it, it's not easy to envision either (a) a way out (b) what being "out" might even look like. They're trapped and will very likely not get themselves out by themselves.
Oh oh and on the topic of cults, manipulating your living weapon so they distrust "outsiders" is probably also going to make them more likely to trust their handler(s) instead of others. Even if they don't like said handler, if other people are painted as dangerous, untrustworthy and an even worse option, they'll probably pick the handler's side. Depends on how well you can seed that distrust. You could also look into some more tactics predatory cults use to get people and see what you can apply to your story
I'm no expert, though, and this is just stuff I've heard and read about, but hopefully it is believable enough for a story. As an aside note, even if you employ allll of these when training/keeping a living weapon, it is no guarantee they won't harbor any defiance or dislike for their situation. They may comply on the outside but turn on you at the slightest loosening of the leash, they may have full loyalty for their handler due to the conditioning tactics, they may try to be obedient but not be able to bring themself to do the more extreme stuff even when faced with the consequence of punishment, they may bounce between states of angry defiance and reluctant self-preservation-fueled compliance, etc. People ain't machines, after all; you can't know how each individual person is gonna react. That's the good part about it, though: if you are the one writing it, you can just shape them to react in the way that's more convenient to you :)
If you want to go even more fantastical while not touching on the realm of actual magic, also, you could go with the good ol' hypnosis. (Sleeper agents, trigger words, etc.) It might not work in real life but even so it is perfectly feasible within the realm of a fictional work if you just suspend your disbelief a little. Plenty settings that don't technically have magic can and do get away with slightly unrealistic features and that's something you could use in your favor.

He'd be good at a lot of things! He wouldn't be good at any really strength-based ones, but he's quick, decently strong (just far from a power lifter) flexible, with good balance and a keen eye. He's enjoy a lot of them tbh. Not watching, that's boring lol, but doing them yeah.

Resh isn't a fan. Initially. For obvious reasons. But then I give him a whump story with a happy ending and he is fascinated. He asks for more recommendations. No, I don't give him the AU. He might be a sweetheart, but he could still end me.
Nykim says the genre sounds like his fucking life and manages to look displeased and interested at the same time. I am plastered to a wall on the far side of the room, sweating heavily the whole time. I should give him a story but I don't know which one. I don't know if I'll be leaving the room breathing or not. I hope your question was worth it.
I feel like this could be so many situations but the first that came to mind is made to watch.
Maybe there's multiple whumpees and multiple whumpers. As one is being toyed with, hurt, beaten, and humiliated, another is forced to watch while taunted by another whumper.
Or!!!
Whumper has their lips pressed against Whumpee's ear as they talk about all the ways they can hurt Whumpee. Maybe they have Whumpee restrained in front of them and are pressed against their back, an arm across their shoulders and a weapon in their other hand.

Crown Prince Marcus is probably the epitome of spoiled nobility, tbh. Which, mixed with his sadistic tendencies, probably exacerbated things to a terrifying degree.
The king and queen don't really get any screen time in Hidden Depths, but over in the novel I stole Marcus from, they seem like fairly decent people, oddly enough. They were decent enough to be permitted to take the throne after the old royals were deposed in a war a few decades ago that I don't mention at all in HD (basically the humans enslaved or killed their mages, and the rest of the world was like, uh no. You can't do that. To sum it up very briefly. The situation with mages is still very tenuous as a result, which is why *waves a hand at Resh's secrecy around his magic*)
Dear daddy is a bit standoffish (he's a very busy man!), but momma (while also busy) is doting and permissive. She likely makes all kinds of excuses for her darling baby boy's behavior. He's her only child after all.
I don't think I've pinned down an exact age for Marcus, but I think he's around 17 or 18 in HD. In my world, 18 is the age of majority, but they're considered wards, or adults in training, until they're 20.
He would've been born after the war and raised in luxury, with private tutors and such. He can turn on the charm when he wants to, and can be very manipulative. His mother is putty in his hands, basically.
He probably spent his childhood learning what he could get away with and then went to town. I could see him burning through nannies like no other. The queen probably spent a fortune replacing/retaining them.
No matter what he did, it was never his fault. The queen didn't spend enough time with him. He hadn't been educated enough to know better. He didn't mean to go that far. And when she couldn't come up with anything, she'd just throw some gold at the problem and pretend it didn't happen.
Yeah, so he's basically had free reign to be a terrorizing little shit all his life :')
Question: How would Eldwin react to a person confessing love to him? (Assume the person is genuinely nice.)
That depends! He likely won't take it seriously. It takes a long time for him to develop that sort of trust. It's unlikely he'd have that sort of trust that can last through a love confession; he hasn't exactly had positive experiences. It doesn't take much to turn a relationship with him sour.
There's a good chance he just freezes, and seems very socially awkward when not knowing what to say. He might also be very blunt, keeping it short and not-so-sweet.
Let's say he does know and trust them... Eldwin is aromantic, but not repulsed - indeed, he wishes he wasn't acearo, believing he's missing out on something, that he can never truly be loved or have a close bond with someone without romance.
So... he might try to reciprocate. He wouldn't be happy doing it, because it's all fake. He can love so deeply, just... not romantically. He'd eventually find it all miserable and exhausting. But for that initial confession, it's not impossible that he'd be receptive.
If he knows the person is nice, and he does not intend to try and play along, he'll try to shut it down in a friendly, casual way, allowing them to minimise embarrassment and play off as a joke.
