As the dust settles on 2025 and we stand at the threshold of a new year, I’ve found myself looking back at the calendar—not just at the dates and deadlines, but at the faces.

If this past year taught me anything, it’s that life doesn’t move in random clusters of luck or misfortune. It moves in a sequence. I’ve come to realize that nothing is a coincidence. Every person who entered my orbit—whether they stayed for a season or a single conversation—was sent with a specific assignment.

When we stop viewing encounters as "random," we start seeing the world as a beautifully orchestrated classroom. Here is what I’ve learned about the three types of souls destiny sends our way:

The Ones Who Came to Teach

These are often the most difficult assignments to accept. In 2025, some people entered my life specifically to challenge my boundaries, test my patience, or mirror my own insecurities.

The Lesson: They aren't there to hurt you; they are there to show you where you still need to grow.

The Takeaway: Sometimes a "bad" interaction is actually a great teacher in disguise, showing you exactly what you will no longer tolerate.

The Ones Who Came to Heal

We all have seasons where we feel slightly fractured. This year, destiny sent "healers"—the friend who called right when the silence felt too loud, or the stranger whose brief words offered a perspective that shifted my entire mood.

The Connection: These souls act as a bridge from our pain back to our power.

The Takeaway: Healing doesn't always happen in a doctor's office; it happens in the empathy of a soul that meets you exactly where you are.

The Ones Who Came to Love

Then, there are the rare ones. The souls sent to remind us of our worth. These people didn't require a version of me that was "fixed" or "perfect." They simply loved the person I was becoming.

As I reflect on the past twelve months, I no longer see a series of accidents. I see a written destiny. I see a tapestry of names and voices that were all necessary for my evolution.

If you’re looking back on your 2025, try to look past the "what" and focus on the "who." Every soul you met was a divine appointment. Some were meant to break your heart so it could grow back stronger; others were meant to hold your hand while you found your way.

This is so hard. She feels like her dreams are crushed. Sometimes there just are no words. Sometimes no matter what you say, you just can't say the right thing.

Sometimes a hug and a shoulder to cry on go so much farther than anything you can say. If you feel comfortable, pray over her. If not, then definitely pray for her. When she calms down (probably not today maybe not even this week) let her know that God has something different planned for her that is for her best. Reassure her, this wasn't her only way to get in.

I really don't know what else you can do. Just be her friend.
