Incredible lesson I'm learning is that all progress is progress.
It doesn't matter that it took me two hours to make two meals. Those "meals" are lunch and dinner for the next week, and they're both delicious. And it doesn't matter that I forgot to fold laundry in between stirring pasta. And it doesn't matter that both pots overflowed when I stirred them and I have to wipe down the stove now. And it doesn't matter that I had to put on a headset and watch Bluey to make it happen. And it doesn't matter that I'm almost 24 and single and watching a show for 6-year-olds.

Iām sure Iām not the first person to notice this butā¦
I watched Spider-Man: Homecoming for first time the other day and āChimneyā is the principal, right? In his office is a picture his grandfather (him) who fought along side Cap, so what if heās just like Steve and Bucky and received some super solider serum but chose to keep quite about it after the war was over?

I had a harder time with this than I thought I would, I have too many movies I love. So, hereās how I did this... I did not choose to give the 9 movies that changed me profoundly or that challenged my way of thinking... I went with 9 movies that I can watch whenever I see them on
Thanks for tagging me @lightyears-x-away š

It washed over him in waves, sometimes. The smallest indication of a threat. Not enough for any casual mind to fixate on. Something most people, even the ones Nate cared deeply for, would dismiss. And like an irritating grain of sand in the mouth of an oyster, it rolled around in Nateās mind until he stood ripe with discomfort. Only he hadnāt the artistry to make a pearl from his fear. He was human, and too flawed.Ā
Today it had been an offhand comment at the market. Some passing trader deriding the extra security. Theyād glanced at Nate when they said it. They probably didnāt know who he was, or why heād ordered Minutemen to station inside Diamond City over the anniversary of the Instituteās defeat. But it stuck there. What if they did know? What if they were a danger to Nateās men. Or Nateās family. Or Nate himself. Perhaps a killer had slipped through the cracks, and this innocent stranger was not innocent at all. It could happen.Ā
It wasnāt likely.
Or maybe it was very likely.Ā
Either way, Nate knew he didnāt have enough to act on. Not here. Not without making a public mess. And though embarrassment rarely plagued him, fear of exposing weakness was far more terrifying. The reputation of the Minutemen couldnāt be led by a General who pulled aside every grumpy stranger and interrogated their intent. Even though the black jagged stone of paranoia cut his gut to shreds, and anxiety filled his head with shuffling leaves until he couldnāt hear anything above the hissing.
He was being unreasonable.Ā
Knowing he was being unreasonable did not make him feel more reasonable.
And that left Nate with few options. He took the most obvious. Retreat.

Piper found him at the top of the city some hours later, tied into a knot of his own devising and fully at war with himself. āHey, Blue.ā
He hadnāt deliberately hidden from her, this time, but it still surprised him to see her approach. She carried a soft look, and somehow that hurt worse. Nate covered his face with a trembling palm. āHey - Pips. Sorry, I ah⦠got a little distracted. Was about to head back down.ā
āYou look about ready to collapse inwardā She laughed faintly, sitting beside him. She didnāt touch Nate, though her fidgeting indicated she wanted to. āWhat happened?ā
She knew him too well by now. No sense in keeping it quiet. And maybe there was even relief in trusting her shoulder to lean on. She often made sense of the world when sensibility hovered beyond Nateās reach. So he told her what had happened in halting words. A familiar strife. Itād played out the same way so many times before. She knew the pattern, too. Helped him untangle it.
Mostly Piper just listened. āYou know Iām here for you, right? No matter what.āĀ
Funny, how adroitly she could cut through the static. Eventually he found the courage to reach out to her, and they sat pressed together, watching the city flow beneath their feet.Ā
What do you think she's trying to do? Rewriting history and dates? Why add shs on this date? She annoys me.
Do you mean not being at the game? Last week I wondered if it was security, but I think that could be assured at SoFi stadium. As Molly McPherson said in a live last week thereās a āseparating of the brandsā happening.
