So uh, a little off topic, but I watched the Total War: Warhammer 2 Halloween Everchosen Tournament; and it made me feel really confident in my ability to play the game because I was doing things the tourney people were doing this whole time. The best part though is yet to come.

While watching you get “leadership” for their twitch stream that you can redeem to make the hosts do things like wear/use a prop, make a serious battle speech, play a certain faction, or even... Make the hosts do karaoke.

I had 800 of the 700 points needed to make the Karaoke request, so I thought, “why not?” The rule was as follows; it can’t be nsfw. So what could I possibly request you ask? Well the Vampire Coast DLC (undead pirates) that is coming out soon has been the main focus of their streams and I thought, “Why not follow the theme?”

I’m Scottish-Irish by birth.

Two families make up my Irish side (patriarchal).  The O’neils, who are descendants of Niall Noigiallach (Niall of the Nine Hostages).  Niall and his family ruled as HIgh Kings of Ireland for four centuries, then they left Ireland and spread around the world.

The O’brians were also High Kings of Ireland, founded in the 10th century by Brian Boru.  Brian himself ruled for 12 years, but the clan ruled for two centuries.  It’s important to note that Brian and his clan had the blood of Niall running through their veins.

On the Scottish side, we have the McCurrys (MacMhuirich).  Originally, they were an Irish clan that were exiled when one of their members killed the steward of a king.  The clan were legendary bards, lawyers and physicians.  Coming to Scotland, they worked for the Earls of Lennox.  Eventually, Clan Donald adopted them and made them their own sub-clan (sept).

Finally, we have the Ross.  The Earls of Ross were some unpleasant ol’ English haters of the first order.  For the better part of three centuries, they fought in just about every war Scotland ever had from the 15th through the 18th centuries.

My family history is made up of pagans, protestants and Catholics.  I have mixed feelings about celebrating a Englishman who came as a missionary to Ireland to save all the heathens from themselves.  I also have mixed feelings about the whole “everyone is a little bit Irish on St. Paddy’s Day”.

It’s possible you might be a little Irish.  Frankly, the descendants of Niall traveled the world and fucked just about everyone they could lay their hands on.  Yes, I do mean that literally.  So, if you want to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, that’s all you.
