The kids are heading into the last week of school. My girls will be 9 and 10 this summer. My boys going on 13 and 16. I ran into an old friend's son last night at his job and I drove home thinking "there's no way he's turning 18 in a few months, I must be wrong'. He's now the age I was when I met him... when I couldn't believe that it was true, that our bodies make babies. When I was still imagining motherhood with a sense of romanticism. Did that much time go by? No. I am having cliché feelings. I'm now that aunt/parent's friend that tells people "I remember when you were just a baby!" to people who only kind of know who she is, people who will refer to her as 'some lady' when she walks away. People who she calls kids... I so vividly remember it all. I guess that's not special is it? My experience is just like everyone else's. Don't we all just want to stand in front of time and hold our hands up, yell 'Stop! You can't go this fast through here! There are children playing in the street!' But there arent. They grew up, got jobs, and send me into existential crisis when I'm picking up my pizza. #igyogacommunity #reallife #momslife #timeflies #notanoriginalthought #writeitdown
