I’m not a musician myself, so I’m not sure what exactly qualifies as straining your hands? Deckhand work is pretty rough as far as blisters/calluses/scrapes go. As a messmate it’s a bit gentler, because you’re spending a lot of time in the galley cooking, and if you wear gloves while washing the dishes you can probably avoid cracking up your hands as badly as I did my first summer. But it’s all manual labour, and it does take a toll. I hope this helps; I’m sorry I can’t be more specific!

She said she never knew that and always signs in purple, but she signed for me in orange! Idk if she was blowing smoke up my ass but that was really special to me.
