the wayhaven chronicles x world of darkness fusion ha
im just noodling at ideas as i bounce around Home Organisation Stuff and chronicle prep but
making A a Tzimisce is a great in to finally introduce Ave du Mortain, my genderfluid interpretation of A, bc i think 900 years is too long for gender to really stick around for someone who, Regardless Of Birth Gender And Expectations, decided to go fuck the rules i'm being a knight. they don't NEED to be tzimisce (aka able to fleshcraft themselves as they like to present) but if im making them a dragon then why the hell not hehe
i also wanna shake up the gender set but i genuinely cant decide if i want Farah and Mason or Felix and Morgan ughhh... both are so good... and the fact that im considering bringing Ada(Eida) into the setting doesn't help the decision bc i have wanted to write Ada/Morgan at some point even just as a random little AU bit... i'm leaning towards Nate tho bc i don't write him as much
and then there's Faith! ...im kinda thinking of making her an Ave Romance? to really dig into Ave's monstrousness, and perception of self as a monster... but part of me does want to dig into this as less of a direct rewrite of TWC and more like... how would i write the story of Wayhaven and a person with Special Blood in the context of a Vampire the Masquerade chronicle? also bc book rewrites are EXHAUSTING.
anyway it's interesting to look at the Agency because they're kinda like... the anti-Second-Inquisition? but not the Camarilla exactly- they're too human focused. do i want to make this somehow a multisplat, so there are other supernatural creatures working together? oh god the research required..............
...i did like that plot in Ysa's not-dnd setting fics where UB were a band of adventurers who ended up with Nate taking over as Vampire Prince of a region to prevent further instability, maybe i could do smth like that again... but i don't want UB to be Camarilla necessarily. but respected and welcome at the nearby court (in the Big City), while allied to an organisation which hides its human heart and overseers (hi Rebecca, im soooo making you an independent ghoul) and works to uphold the masquerade with a more human-protective bent.
Faith lives in a small, rotting town. im going to take a massive grimdark hammer to Wayhaven ufufufu i am Ruining this place 🖤🖤🖤. Reele is staying on as detective, sucks to be her. Faith... oh man actually. what about the background where you were arrested and given the choice of jail or 'become a cop'- and Faith chose jail. i'd need to work out what exactly she was put away for and how long... hell, it could well have been something NASTY- and her mother pulled strings to ensure her daughter wasn't incarcerated for life...
now she's out. she's home. moved back into the horrifyingly clean and empty childhood home her mother clearly hasn't lived in in years. no job, a separation from society for [insert time here], and even if that wasn't that long she's still been thoroughly dunked into such a different world that she's feeling the disconnect. she doesn't exactly WANT to be living in the house her mother owns. but the water runs. the heat works. groceries are delivered to the door with no note or explanation, and Faith isn't stupid, she knows it's her mother. she bought her a box of the cereal that Faith liked once as a kid.
she puts away the milk and bread and eggs. puts away the random selection of vegetables, a few options of fruit. luxuries, compared to prison food.
she doesn't even tip the cereal out. just puts the whole box straight in the bin outside.
