As Etta James once sang: At Last! Here's a proper WednESday post! . This is my 1971 #Gibson #ES335 TDW which I love dearly. It has a volute, as did every 70s Gibson, but it still has the oval shaped orange label inside the F hole, which is why I figure it is 1970/71 (by '72 the oval orange label had been replaced with the square #Norlin label). 1974 #Gibson #LesPaulDeluxe on loan from the @marshalllespaulfan collection. . Here's a burst (no #LesPaul pun intended) of colour to make up for the last post which was, quite frankly, as dark and grey as my heart. 😄 . Since we last spoke I have had some time to noodle on this golden beauty and I'm pleased to say I really like the mini humbuckers! They are less harsh and crisp than the Firebird pickups in my 72 #ES325, and noticeably fuller-sounding, even in the bridge position.
