Random Spotify find for me, but apparently this marks 15 years of J-Rock crew Coldrain, how I’ve never found them before with my love for most things Japanese is unbelievable. It’s just incredible right from the start with “Help Me Help You”. You’ve got phenomenal melodic vocals, harsh growls, and musically there is so much going on musically, highs and lows, high octane and steady pace, melodies and crisp crunchy tones, these guys have real talent and I’m obsessed. “Cut Me” could be a real metal anthem, “Bloody Power Fame” is gorgeous, “Rabbit Hole” punches you in the face with how heavy it is. That cover of “Don’t Speak” by No Doubt is a really tasty treat. On the whole I’m massively impressed and shall add this to the many things I love about Japan.

Coldrain haben kürzlich mit “Nonnegative” ihr neues Album veröffentlicht und zelebrieren dieses Jahr auch das 15-jährige Bandbestehen, gegründet also 2007 und zwar in Nagoya. Auf dem Longplayer sind zwölf neue Stücke zu hören. “Bloody Power Fame” ist zudem Opening-Theme-Song der Netflix-Anime-Serie “BASTARD! – Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy”. Bei “Nonnegative” handelt es sich um das siebte Studioalbum…
