I just came up with a depressing headcanon for Atreus of Sparta and Kratos!!! So you know how AOS has romantic feelings for Kratos??? Well what if AOS tries to give Kratos hints about his crush on him but Kratos never notices because he's too serious and focused on his goals.
So after years of pinning, AOS finally realizes that Kratos doesn't feel the same way and stops any attempts at making a move. Now his heart can never stop loving Kratos but his mind accepts that he's stuck in the friends zone.
Unfortunately only after AOS dies, Kratos realizes that AOS was in love with him. So he's upset and feels regret because he felt the same way but didn't know how to express it and was afraid to make a move.
Idk if I worded myself well but I think it would be tragic if both of them loved eachother but never became a couple because one person didn't notice or they were both afraid of dating because of the Spartan government. So they both stayed in the friend zone and regreted it.
Btw these ideas were inspired by the song Bad Habit by Steve Lacy!!! So feel free to give it a listen!!! It's a wonderful song!!!
