Net Drama: Chapter 2
By theenchantress101
Here is the continuation of my Net Drama fic with Scarlet and Wolf meeting their counterparts. Enjoy :D
âScarlet, Iâd like you to meet Sybil,â the producer said, gesturing at a girl with clearly dyed bright red hair.
âWell, thatâs ironic,â Scarlet muttered. Wolf snorted.
She stalked over to the girl. Scarlet was going to hate this. The only reason she agreed was because Wolf convinced her. He seemed to have a soft spot for Cress.
âHi, Iâm Scarlet,â she said, sticking out her hand, trying to make the best of a horrible situation. She glanced up at Scarlet from her nails, and stretched out her fingers.
âNo thanks, I just got a manicure,â Sybil said in response to Scarletâs outstretched hand. Scarlet withdrew her hand.
She rolled back and forth on the balls of her feet for a few moments before trying to start another conversation.
âSo, um⌠do you want to⌠get some foodâŚ?â Scarlet tried to form a coherent sentence.
âNo thanks. Iâm on a diet. Those carbs will really screw with my calorie intake.â
âWould you like some fruitâŚ?â Scarlet cursed herself as she comprehended what she just said. Sybil gave her a weird look.
âAre you crazy? There is sugar in fruit. Do you know how bad sugar is for you?â
Well⌠that is not the reaction she was expecting. Sybil continued.
âWell, clearly you donât know.â Scarletâs mouth dropped. Did she actually say that to her? Scarletâs fist clenched. For the first time that day, she was glad that they were told to leave all of their metals and valuables at the door. Otherwise, Scarlet would have been very tempted to use one of her metal valuables right then.
Scarlet realized just how truly ironic this meeting was. Sybil Mira had captured her for an incredibly long amount of time and put her through immeasurable torture. And this Sybil had done the same thing. In fact, Scarlet decided, this was worse than when the thaumaturge kidnapped her. At least then she had Winter.
Now, as she to looked around to try to get someone to save her, no one paid her any attention. They all seemed to be having their own problems.
Cinder look like she was about to cry. Kai just looked confused. Wolf just looked like an innocent pup that had no idea what was going on. Cress looked scared as she watched Thorne and some other guy, Thorne looking like he was about to murder someone, Winter look furious, and Jacin looked like he was going to break his jaw from clenching his teeth so hard. What a team.
~
âZeâev, your âcounterpartâ is that man sitting on a chair in the corner, Winston.â Wolf trudged over to the corner.
He nodded, âSup.â
Winston opened his eyes and smiled lightly. (Why were his eyes closed?) âHello, Zeâev.â
âYou can call me Wolf.â Winstonâs expression stayed the same as he patted the seat beside him. Wolf did his best to squeeze into his half of the small loveseat.
âSo, Zeâev, tell me your story.â Wolf was confused.
âI mean, Iâm a Lunar Special Operative. Thereâs not much else to the story before Scar came along. I always did what I was told before I was sent on this mission to find this girlâs grandmotherâs secrets. But then I met Scar and I couldnât imagine hurting her in any way.
âSo I pretended that I didnât have a mission and tried to help her find her GrandâMere. Naturally I was found out, and then the attacks on Paris happened when I almost hurt Scar, and I knew that I could never go back to them. Not when they were trying to hurt the only person who hadnât treated me like crap when they realized what I really was. So then I decided to help Cinder- Princess Selene- overthrow Levana.
âThen when Scar was captured by one of Levanaâs goons, I realized how important she had become to me. Without her, my whole routine was ruined; nothing was as fun, as fulfilling without her. Even tomatoes, the things that originally brought us together didnât taste as good as they usually did. So when I saw her again after she escaped, it was one of the best moments of my life.
âThen during a protest, my mother-â Wolf took a deep breath, â-my mother was killed as a demonstration to Lunar rebels. Thankfully, her death wasnât in vain. She became a martyr; she was the spark that set off the kindling that had been gathering for a long time. Without her, we might not have gotten the support of the people.
âThen during the final battle, when the Lunar scientists had made me even more of a monster, I somehow managed to stay in control. They had mangled me on the outside, but their hold on my mind had seemed to weaken. I managed not to hurt any of the âgood guysâ and we came back down to Earth. And here we are.â Wolf finished his story and looked at Winston.
âNow, ZeâEv, you said something about how you managed not to kill anyone you cared about, Iâm wondering, do you have problems like this normally?â
âYou mean, do I have any problems not killing people in outbursts of anger?â Winston nodded. âI guess sometimes because of the mutation, but Iâve learned to control it.â
Winston puzzled over this for a moment. âAnd how have you learned to control your anger?â Wolf opened his mouth to answer but Winston continued. âHave you tried deep breathing? From the view of a man with little to no anger-management issues, I would highly support it. I have found that, for me, it calms me down considerably, as well as slowing my heart rate.â
Wolf almost laughed at what was going on. This small rather unremarkable Earthen was trying to teach the huge mutant Lunar Special Operative how to control his anger-management issues. The concept was quite amusing to Wolf, seeing as he had the ability to crush- literally- this Earthen in a mere matter of seconds. Maybe next Winston would teach Wolf how to properly perform a self-defense maneuver that would take down a thaumaturge. Wolf almost looked forward to their next topic of discussion. Almost.

TLC Shipweeks - Week 1: Non-Themed
A text message conversation between Jacin and Winter. Here is some backstory of sorts to understand this convo. - Jacin is in his first year of college. He is going to a school thatâs in a place where it snows alot. - Winter is in her junior year of highschool. - Winter and Jacin went to the same high school. Since Jacin is two years older than Winter he graduated to year before Winter (When he was in 11th grade she became a freshman and when he was in 12th grade she was in 10th). - When he says that the whole school knows how he feels about her is because she is popular and he was popular too so everyone knows who he is. And he was always at her side i.e. the whole school knowing about his feelings even though he is no longer in high school.Â
(sorry for the long explanation I just thought i needed t o explain some things)
Based on these scenes:
ââHey, Trouble,â he said, leaning his head back against the dial. With that, the terror from the past weeks slipped away.â
âShe glanced back at Jacin, who was eyeing the guard with distrust. No surprise. He eyed everyone with distrust. âI fear tomorrow will be even more difficult for you, Sir Clay. Do try to think of me when you can.â âTry, Princess?â He smirked up at her. âI canât seem to think of much else.ââ
ââDid I tell you I saw snow when I was on Earth?â Winter stopped walking, her eyes going wide. âReal snow?â âWe had to hide the spaceship in Siberia, on this enormous tundra.â She was staring at him like she would tackle him if he didnât offer up more details. Smirking, Jacin hooked his thumbs over his belt and rocked back on his heels. âThat was all.â Winter smacked him in the chest. âThat is not all. What was it like?â He shrugged. âWhite. Blinding. And really cold.â âDid it glisten like diamonds?â âSometimes. When the sun hit it right.â âWhat did it smell like?â He cringed. âI donât know, WinâPrincess. Sort of like ice, I guess. I didnât spend much time outside. Mostly we were stuck on the ship.â Her gaze flickered with the almost slip of her name, something like disappointment that gave Jacin a shot of guilt. So he smacked her back lightly on the shoulder. âYour parents did well. Youâre named after something beautiful. Itâs fitting.â âWinter,â she whispered. Her expression turned speculative, the lights from a dress shop highlighting the specks of gray in her eyes. Jacin tried not to be awkward when he looked away. There were times when she stood so close that he was amazed at his own ability to keep his hands to himself. Moving the basket to her other arm, Winter started walking again. âNot everyone thinks Iâm beautiful.â He scoffed. âWhoever told you that, they were lying. Or jealous. Probably both.â âYou donât think Iâm beautiful.â He snortedâsomewhat uncontrollablyâand laughed harder when she glared at him. âThatâs funny?â Schooling his expression, he mimicked her glare. âKeep saying things like that and people will start to think youâve gone crazy.â She opened her mouth to refute. Hesitated. Nearly ran into a wall before Jacin scooped her back into the center of the narrow alley. âYouâve never once called me beautiful,â she said after his hand had fallen back to his side. âIn case you havenât noticed, you have an entire country of people singing your praises. Did you know they write poetry about you in the outer sectors? I had to listen to this drunk sing a whole ballad a few months back, all about your goddess-like perfection. Iâm pretty sure the galaxy doesnât need my input on the matter.â She ducked her head, hiding her face behind a cascade of hair. Which was just as well. Jacinâs cheeks had gone warm, which made him both self-conscious and irritated. âYour input is the only input that matters,â she whispered. He stiffened, cutting a glance to her that she didnât return. It occurred to him that he may have led them into a topic he had no intentions of exploring further. Fantasies, sure. Wishes, all the time. But reality? Noâthis was taboo. This would end in nothing good. She was a princess. Her stepmother was a tyrant who would marry Winter off to someone who was politically beneficial for her own desires. Jacin was the opposite of politically beneficial. But here they were, and there she was looking all pretty and rejected, and why had he opened his big, stupid mouth? Jacin sighed, exasperated. With her. With himself. With this whole situation. âCome on, Princess. You know how I feel about you. Everyone knows how I feel about you.â Winter stopped again, but he kept walking, shaking his finger over his shoulder. âIâm not saying these things and looking at you at the same time, so keep up.â She scurried after him. âHow do you feel about me?â âNo. Thatâs it. Thatâs all Iâm saying. I am your guard. I am here to protect you and keep you out of trouble, and thatâs it. We are not swapping words that will result in a whole lot of awkward nights standing outside your bedroom door, got it?â He was surprised at how angry he soundedâno, how angry he felt. Because it was impossible. It was impossible and unfair, and he had spent too many years in the trenches of unfairness to get riled up about it now. Winter strode beside him, her fingers clenched around the basket handle. At least she wasnât trying to catch his eye anymore, which was a small mercy. âI do know how you feel about me,â she finally said, and it sounded like a confession. âI know that you are my guard, and you are my best friend. I know you would die for me. And I know that should that ever happen, I would die immediately after.â âYeah,â he said. âThatâs pretty much it.â The sound of a nearby coffee grinder rumbled through the stone walkway, and the smell of baking bread assaulted his senses. He braced himself. âAlso, I think youâre sort of pretty. You know. On a good day.â She giggled and nudged him with her shoulder. He nudged her back and she stumbled into a flower planter, laughing harder now. âYouâre sort of pretty too,â she said. He threw a scowl at her, but it was impossible to hold on to when she was laughing like that.â
