Smoke and Mirrors

Today is the last day of May. May is such a positive month as in “Yes, you may.” As a child I loved that answer. In the light of being so positive I am wondering why all the politicians keep hounding about the negative aspects of life.
All this hoopla about which bathroom to use and who should be allowed to use it - it is a non-issue. Schools have been deciding this issue for years and shall continue to do so. If the parents do not like the way a school is functioning then they can fire the morons or not elect them. If a superintendent or principal or teacher is treating a student as less than human take that individual to court and sue them for millions. They will stop being assholes when money is involved. Do not go to the school district as their policy is probably arcane and out of date, but the court system and a malicious lawyer will work wonders for updating old outdated mores. And if your child suffers from mental anguish from all the attention sue the school for even more money. Let any school district that discriminates against any child pay through the nose. After the first billion dollars that school will be the shinning light for inclusive behavior.
We want to believe the negative. When businessmen and women shout about shortages and dire circumstances we believe them. When politicians shout and harangue the public about threats that are going to destroy us we believe them. When religious groups and organizations shout and cry about the threats to their very existence we believe them.
We need to be able to objectively consider the truth behind all these declarations and pronouncements. Most of the time people really are making mountains out of molehills. How much are you affected by the machinations of the rich and wealthy? All I care about is how much my gas is going to cost, I could care less about the cost of oil in the year 2018. What so many of the leaders are worried about are of no concern to me.
I am worried about the weather and farming. I am worried about getting food on the tables of the world. I am worried about disease and the spreading of disease. I am worried about the the destruction of the forests of this world. I am worried about objective unbiased education for the people of this world. I am worried about the continuance of war across this globe. Most people seem to be talking about other things.
I do not care about the color of the person next to me if they are working on the same problems. I do not care about the religious beliefs next to me if they are working on the same problems. I do not care about the political beliefs of the person next to me if they are working on the same problems. I do not care about the smell or the clothes or the shoes or lack of shoes or hairdo or anything save the issue at hand. The issue is not color, religious or political beliefs - the issue is getting the problems of this world solved so that we all can live a worthy life.
If you do not want to solve the issues before us that is your prerogative. But do not hide behind racism or hatred or color or beliefs or anything else. Tell it like it is -“I do not want to help you solve the problems of this world. So there! Go fuck yourself!”
