The American people will suffer under a Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton presidency because both leading candidates lack strong moral values and will create more wars and economic devastation, says an American geopolitical analyst. “It is of course the American people who will lose more than anybody else because a president Trump or a president Clinton means more wars abroad and more devastation economically at home,” said Eric Draitser, founder of stopimperialism.org. The record of Clinton, a former secretary of state, senator and first lady, has been a “disaster,” Draitser told Press TV on Thursday. “Hillary Clinton was an absolute disaster as a secretary of state, she was an absolute disaster during her husband’s presidency,” he said. “Donald Trump is not very well-liked by the American people but Donald Trump may actually be able to score a victory if Hillary Clinton’s collapse continues.” Trump has surpassed Clinton for the first time and would narrowly defeat her in a hypothetical head-to-head presidential race, according to a new poll. The Fox News poll also finds majorities of voters feel both frontrunners lack strong moral values and will say anything to get elected. Trump has a three point lead over Clinton if the presidential election were held today. Last month, Clinton was up by 7 percent. The poll shows Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders has a 46-42 percent advantage over Trump in a hypothetical matchup. Sanders was up by 53-39 percent in April. The poll found over half of voters say the phrase “has strong moral values” does not describe Clinton (57 percent) or Trump (58 percent). Fifty-five percent also think Trump does not “care about people like me” while 51 percent think the same about Clinton. Most think Clinton (71 percent) and Trump (65 percent) will “say anything to get elected.” Majorities also think the main reason that Clinton (57 percent) and Trump (56 percent) are running is for themselves -- rather than for the country. And finally, by a 49-37 percent margin, voters say Clinton is more corrupt than Trump.
