featuring JOLI and 29 other noise artists

I have a new track out on the Poverty Electronics Vol. 2 compilation. Due to the themes of the label I wanted to try something a little more minimalist in my approach. The track was created by duct taping a homemade contact mic to the cone of my studio monitors. I then did a live performance using the mixer volume, EQ and on-board FX to the control the amount and tone of feedback. I used reaper to apply a bit of post process time-stretching and delay.

Submissions are still open  for July's 'Voices' Comp.  The voices compilation (to be titled once all submissions are in) will use songs written using ONLY sounds made by the human voice. This means no oscillators, no traditional synths or instruments, etc. Of course any and all effects, manipulations, modifications and resynthesis are both permitted and encouraged. We'd like little to no actual words or singing, but if it's particularly relevant to the rest of your piece then go for it. All songs should be unique to this release (meaning written for, and released specifically on this compilation and not on any prior release), and should not exceed 20 minutes in length. We will accept ALL submissions that have followed the guidelines, but we're looking for no less than 10-12 pieces for the release.  Please have submissions in by June 23, 2012. The sine waves compilation (to be titled once all submissions are in) will use songs written using ONLY sine waves in their creation. All oscillations, modulations, lfo’s, envelopes, etc, MUST use only sine waves. No samples our outside source audio will be permitted this releases, unless of course samples are of sine waves. However, any and all effects or other manipulations are encouraged. All sound styles are also permitted, ambient, soundscapes, harsh noise… the tracklist will be arranged accordingly for flow so please go crazy! All songs should be unique to this release (meaning written for, and released specifically on this compilation), and should not exceed 20 minutes in length. We will accept ALL submissions that have followed the guidelines, but we’re looking for no less than 12 pieces for the release.
