"Most terns are white with dark caps, and have forked tails. The Brown Noddy, like an anti-tern, is dark with a white cap, and has a wedge-shaped tail. At sea it flies low, with deep wingbeats; when perched, it has a solemn and lethargic look. Widespread in tropical oceans, including around Hawaii. Birders know this species mostly from its colony at the Dry Tortugas, Florida, where it nests alongside the much noisier and more numerous Sooty Tern."

The Noddy is a chill friend that can nap all it wants. Most predators leave it alone due to the flesh of its non uplifted relatives containing narcoleptic toxins. These wild relatives lacked magic and relied on their toxicity.

Most sophont noddies still sport the bright pink aposematic coloration that stands out amongst the mainly yellow Popstar flora and announced them to be poisonous, but in the relative safety of Rainbow Resort the coat variety is more expansive.

The Rainbow Resort Noddies differ from their wild animal relatives elsewhere. They are bigger, smarter, more social, and have more dexterous hand like feet. Their poison is greatly diminished or even completely absent. They like to sleep together in large groups. They are hypersocial, even to other species visiting their home. They are largely vegetarian due to this. Empaths are not uncommon. They tend to have magics like levitation, telekinesis, illusions, and/or solid magic projections.

They are particularly abundant around a mysterious place called the dream fountain. It is a place rich in telepathic crystals. Many are placed intentionally and form part of what seems to be a massive telepathic relay station. Beautiful stone architecture is throughout the area, known as Rainbow Resort, in addition to a mineral spring that is what "Dream Fountain" specifically refers to. During sleep the noddies interact via some sort of "dream space" created by the crystal structure's influence. What made the dream space is a god that feeds off of positive emotion produced there and around the mineral springs. Often called the dream goddess, or Mother Noddy. The noddies around rainbow resort have been uplifted by it. They are kind of its emissaries. Its eyes and ears all over rainbow resort. Some find it kind of creepy. They also serve as the majority of the dream fountain resort's staff. Do not mistake their child like, caring and semi subservient nature for unintelligence. That is incorrect. Some debate that the noddies are under slavery. Also incorrect. Is the herd dog under slavery or does it love to do what it was made for and also love you? Mother Noddy loves them too. They can leave at any time if they want, and some do, but they tend to return eventually.

Those with the know how and ability can also link up to the dream space. This dream space is similar to and linked with the kind where the dream goddess keeps her collective of collected souls. I guess you could call it collective existence lite. Many locals choose to become followers that join her collective at death. The influence, strongest at its source, encompasses much of Dream Land, which is what gives Dream Land its unofficial name. Many of Dream Land's people make pilgrimages to there occasionally. Minor dark mental entities can also be dispelled there. There are various miniature dream fountains throughout the solar system with their own entities that once guarded the keys to summon Nova.

Sleeping in boxes they can barely fit into instead of in beds 

Clawing at the door when you kick them out of the bedroom and want back in

Sprawling out in patches of sunlight

Pouncing on anything that moves

Probably have cat ears under those hats
