Here's my question about your problem with the Lapis line: Why is it a problem for Lapis to imply that her pain is so much worse that Blue Diamonds, but it's not a problem for Blue Diamond to imply that her pain is so much worse than everybody elses' (minus Lapis)? Because it seems to me that you dislike Lapis for doing exactly what Blue Diamond is doing. I understand that personal pain isn't a contest, but Blue Diamond is the one who made it a literal contest.
she never implied her pain was worse? the line âYou cannot fathom how much ive mournâ points that she has no idea that others have suffered like she had- which is something that is common with her character- she never takes othersâ feelings into consideration, especially beings that arenât like her: humans and gems alike. And yes, that makes her an self absorbed asshole, but this is something we all can agree on. this, at least to me, is not at all similar to acknowledging oneâs pain- and then completely disregarding it.
and again, sheâs the ANTAGONIST. her acting like this is presented as a bad thing, as it should. Lapisâs line is presented as a moment of empowerment. my problem with this line comes from a meta POV- i have a problem with what it implies out of universe rather than in-universe. thatâs why i donât dislike lapis for this line, because i donât blame this line on her character, itâs just kind of missed the point for me because i think the crew couldâve handled it better.

Spider-Gwen is the OTHER inspiration for Gwenpool besides Deadpool himself and likewise has no official connection to Gwenpool. The meta-joke of course is that Gwenpool is copying two popular characters to stay relevant enough to survive in a comic book universe. Spider-Gwen herself is pretty cool, and her costume is AWESOME, which is certainly why Gwenpool took inspiration from her.
she didnât take inspiration from spider-gwen though, their costumes have the same colors because she was originally just a drawing of gwen stacy dressed like deadpool for a variant cover. and iâm sure if she had made her own costume it wouldnât be anything like what it turned out to be; she didnât name herself, doesnât read dp and jokes about how the costume looks like a swimsuit;; it wasnât her intent to copy anything
It took me the better part of three weeks, but I managed to get Lapamedot in Tap Together, the new Steven Universe clicker game on mobile. Besides the general appeal of having the OT3 together, they actually make a pretty strong team! Amethyst does a ton of damage all on her own, Lapis multiplies the playerâs active tapping damage, and Peridot has an energy shield to protect her two GFs!
(Also they just added to her to the game literally yesterday so I havenât gotten her yet, but Pumpkin is in the game too! You can have a complete team of the Crystal Temps!)
