This is the only picture I have from our actions on Wednesday morning. We met up with about 3 dozen Okinawan #nobase protesters and activists who've been holding a DAILY PROTEST of these obscene examples of American imperialism for the last 17 years. For 17 years these incredibly strong and brave Women and Men have held daily protests outside of the gates of hell. This base Camp Schwab is next to the precious #coralreef of #henokobay home to a number of sea creatures on the endangered wildlife watch lists including the #dugong and the #unitedstates is actively destroying this vital piece of nature. During our peaceful and legal protest I was arrested for "obstructing traffic" when I threw myself under one of the construction trucks. I spent one night in jail, the next day my charges were dropped. I was fortunate. The destruction continues, albeit slowly due to the vigilance of these brave resistance warriors. This should be an international crisis, garnering massive amounts of news coverage but because of the near holy pedestal of the US military no one outside of #Okinawa even know about it ...
