"My, you're a brave one." Whumper pressed the gun against the back of Whumpee's head, forcing them to lead forward as far as the ropes tying them to the chair would allow. "If my finger so much as twitches, I could end your life right here."

Whumpee didn't reply, barely even flinched at the threat.

"Come on..." Whumper hissed, clicking the safety on and off. "No reaction?"

Whumpee stared at the floor, ignoring the incessant noise of the weapon that could blow a hole through their skull and paint the whole room in red.

"You must be truly unafraid of death," Whumper mused, removing the gun from their head. They considered Whumpee for a moment as they straightened, still keeping their eyes ahead. "Rather boring. I prefer the ones who cry and plead and beg for their lives."

They waved the weapon languidly. "I should just shoot you now. Spare both of us the agony of boredom."

No response.

"Or..." Whumper muttered, an idea occurring to them. "Or I could keep you around. Poke and prod endlessly, for as long as it takes. Hours, days, weeks... however long it would take to make you crack. To break that stony mask on your face."

They pointed the weapon at Whumpee's head again. "That could be interesting, don't you think?"

No response.

Bang!

Whumpee jumped, blinking in surprise as the bullet whizzed mere centimeters past their temple, embedding into the wall beyond them.
