Tonight I was waiting at the bus stop and a dude, who had a disability, came and gave me a high five and a smile. Then he went to the next guy at the bus stop and that guy completely ignored him. Then not two seconds later a bunch of drunk blokey blokes on one of those Rickshaw things they have for the Fringe season rode past shouting out to girls on the sidewalk. The blokey bloke sitting on the end then spat onto a passing car driven by an Asian man and, I'm assuming, his two very young daughters in the back. The man driving obviously didn't know how to react, so he gave the blokey bloke an awkward thumbs up.
And I just sat there thinking how fucked up it is that this disabled man just full of friendship is shunned by everyone, while this loud, obnoxious drunk dude get a thumbs up from someone who is rightfully too worried to say anything back.
