Bon Jovi, 57, a member of the hall’s class of 2009, helped to induct Southside Johnny, aka John Lyon, one of 24 members of the hall’s 2018 class. In truth, he also made sure the accolades-shy Jersey legend would show up. The Sayreville star paid tribute to Lyon and the Jersey sound he built by teaming up with his idol to perform the Asbury Jukes song “I Don’t Want to Go Home" at the Paramount Theatre. The choice of music echoed last year’s hall of fame ceremony, when inductee Steven Van Zandt and Bruce Springsteen sang the same song. “I’m very proud to be from New Jersey, and when we started out making music, making records, that was not something you would say," said Lyon, 70, of Ocean Grove.
