I am not surprised, most men who go into women dominated professions tend to not only be paid more but also treated with much more respect (as is the case in non women dominated fields as well). I know from working in the labor scene a bit that while most teachers are women, men tend to be more involved in the teachers unions, which is.... fucked to say the least. I know a friend who’s insurance got switched to one that doesn’t provide birth control because her male union rep didn’t negotiate hard enough to keep the previous insurance!

I don’t know if I exactly understand what you’re asking, but what people should do in order to be deemed attractive is a complicated subject. What is “attractive” is a combination of biological factors, but also largely social conditioning mostly contrived/bolstered by Hollywood and beauty/fashion/clothing companies to get you to buy their shit. The ‘rules’ of attractiveness are clearly not perpetuated by some kind of outside pressure or entitlement, they are perpetuated willingly and cheerfully by the very people participating in them, which in some ways basically justifies them. Even so, I would guess that far less people actually really care to any significant degree whether or not a woman has body hair than the commercials and TV shows would have us think.

note: i am not saying this is not a real issue or that this is not an example of sexism or that women are making shit up. I'm saying that most people are decent and we shouldn't vilify our entire society based on the actions of assholes. That doesn't mean shouldn't still try to stop assholes from being assholes.
