I think this would be a good call, especially since itās not like thereās much else going on in the world lol. My least favorite parts of TGF season 3 (Book Club, Blum) wonāt be in season 4 so Iām optimistic about the upcoming season. And yep, Blum left.Ā
for rose's 11, questions 3 and 15?
Whatās your favorite line of narration?
Davidās smile is gone, his eyebrows pulled down. It used to be so easy to read those changes in mood; to know when David was worried or angry or just tired, when he needed reassurance or a snack or a kiss. Patrick stares at him and doesnāt know what he needs.
What did you learn from writing this fic?
LOL I learned a lot about Vermeer and his artwork, where it was housed and how it was curated. I learned a fair amount about various museum heists over the years, and I learned about how to take a painting out of a frame in under 30 seconds (which I ended up not even using for the fic, goddammit).
Link to fic meme questions here!
hey do you or any of your followers remember the name of the fic where Patrick's parents have Patrick look at the label of some of David's sweaters so they can get him a gift he'll actually like and one of them makes a joke about getting Clint one too? I mentioned it to the discord and I can't find it!!
i donāt remember this one, but hopefully someone out there does⦠hit us up with a link if you know this fic! thanks!
I felt like the Remy&Nova scene could also be read 100% platonic. Except for the putting his hand on hers (and talking about Vi's ways, dude), nothing in that scene was unusual for people who go back. Like, Nova having Feelings at being encouraged and getting a hug, not unreasonable. Their conversation was not unreasonable. I'm overly hopeful about supportive friendships, but they're good! That scene before Remy and Charley breaking up also underscores how tangled their lives are. Thoughts?
It could definitely (and should definitely!!!!) be 100% platonic! I defended the scene as being platonic at the screening too. people talk like that, and I feel like the both of them could easily just be conversing. and maybe it could be that one off moment for them, that little weāre talking about being intertwined, and maybe, here, with us?Ā but itās a moment people know when theyāre questioning what comes next and around someone who they could possibly be attracted to. doesnāt mean it needs to be anything more than that.
I could see the hand as the border of platonic. the hug almost feels like him correcting himself like thatās not what we do here. they got a little caught up, but a good hug can do that.
hereās hoping it is platonic and stays just that.Ā
+ Remy a fool for joking about going after Vi like that.Ā āItās the ways!ā

I just wanted to point out that Moira was cast in Cabaret in 1979 at "17" (25ish, if she's COH's age), so if that was the start of her acting career, there's no way she was in Sunrise Bay in the 60s and 70s. Since David was born in 83 (probably), unless she went straight from Cabaret to Sunrise Bay, probably most of her time on the show, if not all of it, was after he was born. My take is definitely to disregard "Season 21"
david also says in that sceneĀ āshe was not 17ā³ so i would def go with her being older (prob more like catherineās actual age, yeah), but also who knows if that was even in 1979 at all? she could be making that up too. or it could be true and the season 21 could be fake. or itās all accurate and this show is built on some kind of time vortex lolol
whatever the case, this is exactly why i started that ask with the caveat that i did. i knew there had to be something that would contradict it
Pillow (not tryna be a creep it was the first thing I saw when trying to cone up w a word lol)
from the baseball au:
The flat, cheap, down alternative pillows get replaced with two of his own custom-stuffed pillows from his bed at home, and instead of the ratty comforter that would be best served by dropping it into a bonfire, he drapes a heavy chenille blanket across the foot of the bed.
send me a word, if itās in my wip document iāll answer your ask with the sentence that it appears in

I genuinely love the way that imo Adrian's Good Guy Vibes (which involve a lot of taking care of people) overlap seriously with Adrian's Mansplain Vibes (which are often appropriate because he's the boss) which come out particularly in Adrian's relationship with Liz (bc she's also the boss) which is often contentious and low on Good Guy vibes (bc, divorce) but he still tries there. I feel usually - I'm confused about his problem with hiring women in this episode - like he's very coherent and his strengths and flaws, if they can be clearly delineated from each other, flow from a similar place. That is........one of the most frustrating things about this episode lol
YES, 100% yes. Itās not usually enough for me to take issue with it (he definitely has used that voice around men too) but this ep crossed the line. I just donāt quite understand how this conflict arose.Ā

also I love how you keep just reiterating the correctness of Liz Reddick-Lawrence
Some of that is because she is very right but tbh a lot of it is that I felt strongly about it and couldnāt remember what Iād already said and was too lazy to re-read.

I can 10000% also see young Alicia coming off as aloof or like she felt superior to young Liz, who was presumably like steeped in law since birth and almost certainly would not have been about it
This is also super plausible. I think young Alicia and young Liz wouldāve had clashing personalities. I can see both of them thinking theyāre better, Liz because this is in her blood and Alicia because she chose to go to law school since she was good at it.

also the last thing about whether Diane gets a say in who the firm is - is her entire story this season going to play out on fkn instagram? why isn't she at work?
At least they had her in the background of scenes this ep but they really need to watch out for this. It NEVER goes well when they take a character (I donāt care how much of a lead they are) out of the work plots for an extended period of time.
