the most skilled x reader authors are either making sure that they appeal to the widest range of readers with minimal details about reader OR they're highly specific (like black reader, plus size reader, etc).

I've read some fics where authors don't consider these things, and casually toss out "pale skin" "tiny hands" "small frame" (and it's so jarring every time).

We NEED the fics with specific points of view because the unquestioned standard of many fanfic authors is simply white and skinny.
