Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā š„ ā” ā On a very spooky night, two strange young men stood at the gate of a very spooky mansion, an air of trepidation between them as they contemplated who should dare hit that buzzer first.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā The world they were in was alien to them, a place theyād run to after certain...incidents back in their previous accommodations had made them too furtive to remain. Fortunately, some of their belongings were apparently worth a lot of money in this new place, but if they wanted to properly begin staking their claim on their own terms, they would need something a little more steady.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā And so they turned to someone theyād seen on the television whoĀ āstudiedā those things that most would fear and run from, but that barely made them lift a brow. Theyād seen much stranger.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āIāll do all the talking.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āYouāre bad at talking, though. We know that.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āFine then. Iāll do most of the talking. Be careful, we know almost nothing of this man.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āYouāre implying Iām not always careful?ā The look Spaz got made him groan,Ā āLook, things go south, we stab him and bail. You know weāre strong enough.ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Spaz walked up and grabbed Ret by the shoulder, giving him a lopsided but genuine smirk that was faintly returned.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā āIām here to back you up, okay? You lose your words, I can pick things up for you. Got it?ā
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Ret hesitated, then nodded in thanks, turning back to the gate. Spaz flashed a grin at him, then around hoping some security camera would pick it up, before he wandered off to inspect the yard--a small attention span was still a small attention span, and this place was interesting.
Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā Meanwhile, Ret eyed the gate and the house beyond suspiciously, pulled himself up to stand with confidence, cleared his throat, and hit the buzzer, stepping back and locking his hands behind him.Ā
