Adélaïde was usually quite good at getting the attention of others. She would turn on the charm, bat her eyelashes, and cross her arms—pushing up her more valuable features. Her newest target, Lucius Malfoy, was the oldest—and most popular—subject she had tried that on. She was currently trailing after him in Hogsmeade, waiting for the opportune time to corner him. “Lucius!” Her robes fluttered after her as she glided toward him. “What a pleasant surprise!” 

Tilden was not a natural multitasker, not in the least. In fact, he was well known for walking into people in the halls of Hogwarts, as well as completely forgetting the trick stairs. Hogsmeade was no different. Rather the contrary, there was so much going on that Tilden found himself saying ‘Oof—sorry!’ more often than not. Today was no exception, except this time, he recognized the person he ran into. “Oof—sorry—Celeste? I think this is the fifth time I’ve run into you this week.”

There were people that once they came into your life their impact was so great that even if you tried you could never keep them away. Such was the case of Willow Mulciber, no matter how much Robbie had tried to extricate himself from her, their lives were so tightly wound that he could no escape her. The last place he had expected to see her was back at Hogwarts and yet there she was, teaching, of all things. Rob wondered if he had known she was part of the staff, would he have taken the position? most likely yes, his commitment to the order was greater than whatever had or not had happened between them. And yet every time he saw her he felt fifteen years old again.

“Hey” Robbie said approaching Willow with caution, “you want a drink? It’s gonna have to be butterbeer or pumpkin juice though, ‘cause technically we are still on the clock...”

James was excited to try out this prank, since it sounded like a perfect solution to their little first year problem. All that needed to happen was for one of the little punks to press the button and then the two nearest people would be transported into a room with no way out until someone on the outside pressed the button again.

He was rereading the instructions while walking down the road when he was pushed into someone, losing his balance and somehow pressing the button in the process of falling into someone. The next thing he knew, he was in a wooden room with no doors, trapped with Narcissa Black.

“Oh fuck.”

Tilden’s idea of a perfect Hogsmeade trip is showing his face, waving to a few people he knew, and shooting out of there as quick as he could. There were a few things he had to pick up this trip—mostly robe replacements, as his had been shredded by some of the more aggressive plants in the Greenhouses this past term, and he hadn’t had time to pick any others up in Diagon Alley before term started—and a few spare quills (he had forgotten his at home, and his mum wasn’t adept at owl post). 

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw another Hogwarts student with her nose buried in her book. He was drawn by that—someone who was both inside and outside the moment, as he often was. There, but not really there. He forgot for a moment that he didn’t really like talking to people. “What’re you reading?”
