His work self ain't too bad either
Considering the context around this (β), it's surprisingly well (?) handled by the parents, especially the father -he a real one-, but there are def still issues with how it's talked about or addressed. (And issues with, like, other things in the story in general too, but yk π)
Some thoughts on Nicoichi
After chapter 12 shit becomes even more fucking messy
Some parts of the story are uncomfortable because of how they are handled or presented
The main relationship will possibly make some people uncomfortable because of how it plays out and other things surrounding it (Also one specific parent used for "reference" will definitely bother some)
Also, the talk of identity and sexuality is not great, it's alright for a good amount of it but there are some very exhausting parts about it as well; though the run going on from 2004 to 2012 gives it a pass in my opinion.
Again I'd like to say that there are things that will make you uncomfortable for a variety of reasons so just be prepared for that (?)
I, honestly, just really like the concept. (Though I'd definitely make changes to a lot of important aspects ππ½ββοΈ)
(I'm only up to chapter 47 out of 120 rn due to the translation being ongoing but I'll definitely read the rest of the chapters in Japanese soon)
