*inhale**exhale*…BOIIII
-Nico Vorgeil, chapter 205
We start being able to see the difference between what people say when de-languaged. The 'moga' is still common, but it starts to differentiate itself. Bau even used a completely new construction in "gabagobe".
We've finally reached the 11 pods from last loop. Nico's back in full force.
Oooh, this is cool. Those precepts share the same 'fu' beginning as every Japanese negation, so it's practically like Nico just invented ten new negations!
Oh, boy. We've reached the lore dump part of the fight! You know what that means- Language is going extinct.
The way Nico now refers to the "I" instead of the "previous me" is great to see. I have trouble connecting my own self-perception with the me from 10 years ago, let alone 200!
Ikutachi: the 'great blade of life. Owned by Susano'o the Storm God.
Chandrahas: an indestructible sword gifted to the rakshasa Ravana by Shiva.
Also, get fucked.
I adore how these two are being all lovey-dovey while Feng is just DBZ powering up in the foreground.
Hey, his aura is literally spikier than most souls! He's so shōnen his soul looks different!
And the 'game arc' comes to a close in an incredibly Undead Unluck way- with the antagonist getting mad and flipping the table.
UU Appreciation Week Day 2
UMA You Appreciate - UMA Language
While her presence was fairly short-lived, Language is arguably one of the most important UMA for the cohesion of Undead Unluck as a whole
We were initially introduced to the concept of UMA Language in Fuuko's first set of Quests, and among those it seemed like her Quest was the easiest as it only allowed one participant. It didn't help that that participant was Nico, who was the eighth seat of the Roundtable at the time and therefore seemed fairly weak
This was a masterful misdirect from Tozuka, as it obscured both how strong Language was as a Master Rule and how strong Nico was as one of the Union's longest-standing members
While one could argue that Tozuka might not have planned the Master Rule concept that early on, that Quest held one more layer of obfuscation: its reward
The reward for Language's neutralization was the unification of all of the world's languages, which at the time seemed like the natural consequence of said neutralization. It wasn't until we saw the effects of the death of the Seasons that we realized that the effect of a UMA's neutralization was supposed to be fairly quick, and that the language unification was actually the odd one out for being delayed until the Quest results phase, but I don't think anyone really noticed at the time
The revelation that certain Rules are permanent, regardless of the presence of their UMA, suddenly put all of that into perspective - the language unification didn't happen instantly because Language was a Master Rule. Moreover, Language was fought with the 99th penalty on the line. The Late Game. Burn and Spoil are clearly some of the toughest UMA around, so while Language seemed like an easy mark at the time, we know now that they were the small fry, and the only reason Juiz was more worried about Spoil than Language was because she knew she had the manpower for Language, but wasn't confident she did for Spoil. It was just a matter of the matchup, not the actual threat level
Language also had, in my opinion, one of the best fights in the entire series, being both extremely creative and character-rich, but her indirect ability to lay the foundation for so much of Tozuka's incredible foreshadowing alone is more than enough for her to earn my appreciation
