Do you think Lorna could ever genuinely fall in love with Nicky, assuming she hasn't already? 'Cause I can tell for sure that she loves Nicky, but sometimes I wonder if she could ever grow feelings for her. Like romantic ones, not sexual ones. I feel like it's more clear to us that Nicky harbors those kind of feelings for Lorna, but I can't say I feel the same way about Lorna's feelings towards Nicky. The love is definitely there, but do you think it could happen?
I’m sorry this has taken so long to reply, I’ve only just checked my inbox! Okay so I’ve basically come to a conclusion that
a) Lorna and Nicky both know that they have feelings for each other, whether that be romantic or not, they both know that there’s an affection there which in general situations, they don’t often hesitate showing.
b) Neither of them can really act on them, at least not until there’s a perfect time. Nicky’s a junkie whom Lorna probably doesn’t see having a future with. Nicky doesn’t exactly fit into her ideal fantasy world of a perfect husband with three kids, and lorna being someone who wants to be protected and safe, probably fails to see how someone with a drug problem and sleeps around a lot would be able to fulfill this and stay loyal. That being said, whether she knows or not, Lorna actually helps Nicky stay grounded as a person which is probably why her feelings for her are so affectionate. But at the same time, Lorna being someone who lives in a fantasyland, this isn’t exactly good for Nicky either. She’s the one who puts up with it the most, it’s probably becoming quite tiresome for her. As we saw her frustrations in Toast Can’t Never Be Bread Again, she can’t keep up with her delusions anymore and at the same time, be literally the ONLY ONE to have to snap her out of it.
Long story short; both love each other, both know, can’t act on that til they sort their shit out, stop arguing and actually because straight with each other. I hate and love this show.
